Title: Any Diabetics on Insulin? Humalog Question
Post by: NickEdge779 on December 31, 2018, 03:31:59 PM
For those who eat often and take Humalog (fast acting insulin), does your insulin overlap and result in low blood sugars if you eat very often? Like let's say you are bulking and eat every 2 hours, Humalog can last several hours in your blood. So you take an injection at 6pm for dinner and eat again at 8:30, so you take another shot of humalog for that meal, but the previous meal's humalog is still in your system and could crash your blood sugar? Do you take less insulin for each progressive meal if the insulin hasn't cleared your system yet? Typically for me, it lasts about 3 hours. So I can take my normal humalog dose 1iu/10g carbs if I eat every 3 hours, but if I eat every 2 hours, there is some overlap in insulin in my body and it's tricky to gauge
