Was raised a Mormon and actually went to Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho) my first year of college. Realized in junior high or high school it was bullshit but went along to get along until I turned 18 and left. I have never regretted leaving and I feel sorry for anyone still in and that includes my parents who are very active today. Lots of boring meetings and 10% tithing requirement if you want access to the Temple to get those wonderful underwear you speak of.

I'm all for 'to each his own" when it comes to religion. Having said this, to me the Mormon Church seems more like a cult than a religion. The Church of Latter Day Saints is very clear on chasity. Their advertising online and on podcasts is relentless. There's no escape from these die-hard underwear salesmen. That was kinda the joke. The last thing I wanted to do was actually advertise for them, then you went off and bought something. They got you too! It's like a damn Invasion of the Undies Snatchers or something.

Don't get many of them in the UK but my brother was good friends with one in university. He gave my brother the book of Mormon which I later read. I found it very dense.
One thing I've always liked about them is their temples. They look great.

The newer temples are not very impressive as they are making a lot of them at cheaper cost. They want to make their church look bigger by having all of those buildings plus the real estate value. The truth is they are losing members left and right like most western religions. I am still on the books as being a member of the 16 million they claim even though I have had nothing to do with them for almost 30 years. They really only have 3 to 5 million active members.

Almost all Mormon converts are overseas in really poor countries. Those people have almost no money to pay the tithing so they are a net drain on the corporate U.S. church. For some reason the Mormon leadership has yet to realize that door to door sales with 18-20 year old missionaries (salesman) went out of style decades ago. That leadership is full of 80-100 year old men who have no energy or clue to what they are doing.
The internet killed these religions like the Mormons and JW's by allowing anyone to research their beliefs and true history before joining.

Haven't bought them yet. Thanks for the heads up though. These onesies aren't exactly cheap at $68. It has been my experience that once you buy something from all retailers their adds flood your inbox. Pottery Barn and J. Crew are among the worst offenders.

When I was a kid, my parents and I lived several blocks from the Mormon Temple in West Los Angeles. If I remember correctly, tourist were only allowed inside for the first year which was when we visited it.

While my daughter was in high school, she dated a Mormon. He seemed to be a nice guy. His parents were very upset that my daughter wasn't a Mormon. Eventually, they broke up.

Most of the Mormom Marines would always take the unprepared left-over food such as sacks of beans, etc. after numerous mneuvers, but I don't recall their reason for doing so.
And the Mormons keep great records in which you can discover who your great-great-great grandfather was and how he was employed and how got to where-ever he got to.
I discovered that I come from some Indian tribe and had some great great grandfather in England who was convicted and sent to Australia.
Some family members who research this benevolent shit claim that our great++ grand-mother had a powwow with a Cherokee in a tee-pee ... but we don't get no government compensation like some older family members used to get.
And the other side of the family were royal enough to sit up front at the Queen's coronation back in the 50's sometime.
The Moron Church can help you find out this stuff .... but the only family members I've actually met were the royal ones mentioned above who were often referred to as "Royal pains in the ass!" by the common folk within our family unit.
But those past dudes are all gone now and the present generation all make movies some of which are about those royal. pain in the ass charactes, and Indians, and tee-pees, and convicts fom England .... and such!
