The press latches onto something, focuses on it like a laser, and then it turns out to be nothing. This keeps happening, again and again. And over the weekend, it happened twice in as many days.
First, BuzzFeed gave us the impeachment-justifying scoop of the century that, er... wasn't. The bombshell was a bust. Then, for some reason, over the weekend we were all expected to care about an altercation in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Not even an altercation. Just a smirk.

A freelance Vulture journalist was fired from his main job at digital company INE Entertainment after wishing death for multiple Covington Catholic High School students and their parents in the wake of controversy over the incident between students and Native American activists, a report said.
Erik Abriss, a post-production supervisor at INE Entertainment, was fired after his tweets about the controversy involving teenage students went viral. He is reportedly a freelance journalist for Vulture.
Vulture declined to comment for the Wrap.

A GQ magazine writer, meanwhile, apologized for calling to share the students’ private information on social media, a practice also known as doxxing.
GQ’s Nathaniel Friedman told the Wrap that the tweet in which he wrote “Doxx ‘em all” was “irresponsible” and occurred “in the heat of the moment because I was upset.”
“It partly came from having been doxxed by MAGA people myself but that’s no excuse and no one should wish that on anybody else. It’s counterproductive to say anything along those lines and if you make yourself look like an irrational, mean idiot you’re playing right into their hands,” he added.
Fox News reached out to both writers and did not get an immediate comment.
The firing stems from a widely-circulated video clip gave an inaccurate impression that high school students were harassing a Native American man, Nathan Phillips, following the March for Life rally in Washington.
The subsequent video footage revealed that the students were accosted and yelled before Phillips and other Native American activists approached them. Another group – the so-called Black Hebrew Israelites group – were heard shouting abuse at the students for wearing “Make America Great Again” hats.

I would’ve expected an adult to be more rational and go about his business or ignore a bunch of high school students who who act like teenagers (but aren’t violent). Instead he chose to try and provoke or elicit a reaction from the kids, marching towards them and beating the drum inches from that teenager’s face (who stood in his place and didn’t do something threatening or offensive) and then lying so he can once again appear as a victim.

I've just read about and seen really short clips proving the lies the media told. Watching this is mind blowing, and overwhelmingly damning to the leftist media agenda.
I grew up with, and from 1st thru 9th grade was classmates and friends with many Indians.....they did not call themselves Native Americans back then....at least not where I was. I'm sad to say that my view of Native Americans as a whole has lessened after watching this. The Indians were the victims of racial slurs just like the Covington kids. How, and why would not a single one of them that was there come forward and at least say "it wasn't just those kids. there was a group of blacks insulting us too."? ??? Still would have been a lie, but at least it would have shown the hate they supposedly received from not one, but two races.
Also, I hope that kid (I'm never going to type his name again, because it needs to disappear off the net in relation to this incident) receives millions from the media, celebs like Kathy Griffin, that tribe, and especially the evil fucker that was there videoing this and chopped that little clip up that facilitated this entire mess. That person needs punishment financially, and in the form of time in jail to think about what they've done to that kid, their school, their families, and our country. There should be zero tolerance for people that perpetuate this type of lie. >:(

An investigation released Wednesday into an encounter between Covington Catholic High School students and Native American activists at the Lincoln Memorial last month largely supports the students’ accounts of the incident, which prompted immediate and widespread condemnation of the boys after a video of the encounter went viral.
A short video clip showed Nathan Phillips, playing a traditional drum, in an apparent standoff with student Nick Sandmann, who was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat. The Diocese of Covington and Covington Catholic High School, which arranged the trip, were among those who initially condemned the boys’ actions in the video.
The report, prepared by Greater Cincinnati Investigation, Inc. and dated Feb. 11, employed four licensed investigators for approximately 240 hours to take statements from students and chaperones, as well as to interview third-party witnesses and review about 50 hours of video. Investigators were not able to interview either Phillips or Sandmann in person and instead reviewed the student’s written account.

The investigators said they found no evidence that the students responded in an offensive manner to the black Hebrew Israelites or that they chanted “build the wall.” After asking chaperones, they performed a school cheer, according to the report, to drown out the black Hebrew Israelites.
Other key findings include testimony that the students felt “confused” when Phillips approached them. Investigators said they found no evidence of “racist or offensive statements by students to Mr. Phillips,” though some performed a “tomahawk chop.”
According to the report, one of the chaperones told students that if “they engaged in a verbal exchange with the Black Hebrew Israelites, they would receive detention when returning to school.”
According to the report, most boys bought the red hats bearing President Trump’s MAGA slogan in Washington on the day of the March for Life, an annual antiabortion rally that they attended. In previous years, some students bought “Hope” hats in support of President Obama, the report says.
The Bishop of Covington welcomed the report in a statement on the diocese’s website. Roger Foys wrote that he was pleased “that my hope and expectation expressed in my letter to you of 25 January that the results of our inquiry ... would ‘exonerate our students so that they can move forward with their lives’ has been realized.”
The day after the march, the diocese denounced the boys’ behavior in a joint statement with the school, calling it “opposed to the Church’s teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person.”
“We condemn the actions of the Covington Catholic High School students towards Nathan Phillips specifically, and Native Americans in general,” the statement read.

Foys later wrote that he was “bullied and pressured into making a statement prematurely” and that it is “important for us to gather the facts that will allow us to determine what corrective actions, if any, are appropriate.”
The report does not provide any recommendations for future changes, such as banning political attire or changes to chaperone protocol. Many people were critical that the adults in charge of the students did not intervene more forcefully to avoid or end the interactions.
The report also does not address underlying issues of diversity at the school that were raised by local NAACP leader Jerome Bowles and others.
Before the report was released, Bowles said the missteps occurred before the students left for the Washington trip.
“There has to be a look at diversity in the diocese in general. Covington Catholic is a very academically proficient educational institution; no one questions that,” he said. “But is the school totally preparing students for the workforce and a diverse world?”
