Title: 5 people 'senselessly murdered' after gunman takes hostages in Sebring, Fla
Post by: SF1900 on January 24, 2019, 09:30:24 AM
Five people were "senselessly murdered" Wednesday after a gunman took hostages in a Florida bank, forced them to the floor and began shooting, authorities said.

Sebring Police Chief Karl Hoglund and Highlands County Sheriff Paul Blackman briefed reporters but declined to elaborate on the motive for the shooting, which took place around noon at the SunTrust bank in Sebring, about 94 miles southeast of Tampa.

The suspect was identified by Hoglund as Zephen Xaver, 21, a Sebring resident. A photo published by the Highlands News-Sun shows police taking a handcuffed white male, wearing a T-shirt and khaki shorts, from the scene.

"It's been a tragic day in our community," Hoglund said. "We have suffered a significant loss at the hands of a senseless criminal doing a senseless crime."

Yet very few heard about it because it was buried in the middle when it comes to prioritizing because it didn't fit the week's agenda which was a lying stolen valor Indian that the left keeps praising.

I only heard about it because Mark Levine brought it up on his show.

I don't have cable or anything, so I don't watch the news, but if you google "shooting," its being covered by all the major sites.

On google, it's showing up for top stories for "NPR," "CNN," and "Fox 5 Vegas," "Washington Post," "Florida Today," "ABC," "KTRK," "Fox News," etc etc etc.

When I went on the CNN website and clicked on the title "US," the first thing that popped up was, "A suspect killed five people inside a SunTrust bank in Florida. Just one employee escaped."

 ??? ??? ???

It's there but not nearly as covered as others have been previously with the outrage, etc. Seems as if the media hates Trump more than they love gun control. Red hats are more important currently.

As stated, if I want the news, I just use google news, as I don’t watch television.

But, it seems like Twaddle said it was covered. However, I agree, it’s obviously not getting as much coverage as say, school shootings.

What kind of a name is Zephen Xaver??  Sounds like a nutcase.  Too bad there wasn't some grizzly badass old war vet packing heat inside the bank doing some banking when this dude entered.  He possibly could have been taken down before he killed those people.  I encourage everyone to train often, take a gun safety course and don't be afraid to conceal carry.  We clearly aren't addressing the mental health problems in our nation very well and you never know when you could be in a position to save someone's life.  Whether it be a stabbing, a murderous beating or a shooting, you may be able to neutralize the bad guy!
