...not protein or creatine?
Thanks.

Coffee.
Don't fall for the protein and supplement myth. It's all BS. Save your money.
The only supplement that works is Vitamin S.

are you asking about a pre workout that doesnt have protein or creatine? nearly none do

What is the desired effect you're looking for in the drink?

Endurance?
Focus?
Pump?

For pure pump, my choice would be citrulline malate in a 2:1 ratio.
In vivo, citrulline has shown to convert to higher levels of plasma arginine than from consuming the same dose of actual arginine. Plus, there’s far less stomach distress for most users.
There are conflicting studies on PubMed concerning CM's effects on improving anaerobic performance and reducing muscle soreness, but some studies only examined the effects of acute doses.
CM's vasodilation effects, however, seem uncontested. If a pump is what you're after, you will probably see favorable results from citrulline malate.

Citrulline Malate works great. Most pre workouts that have citrulline in it are underdosed. Have you ever tried noxygen?

I have not. In fact, there aren't many brand-name products I buy anymore because of the common "blends" of useless and/or (as you mentioned) under-dosed ingredients. These days, I think the supplement consumer is often better off going to a bulk raw supplement source to buy SPECIFICALLY what they need and mix the exact amounts desired into their shakes.
Done this way, you're getting enough of what you want, and not paying for and ingesting any unnecessary or undesired fillers you don't want. This method is also often more cost-effective for procuring the active ingredients.

Pre-Jym works very well, kind of expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Although I do use a pre-workout once in a while (Evogen) IMO, the best pre-workout (or intra) is just waxy maize such as Vitargo. Overuse of pre-workouts combined with the other stimulants that might be consumed (coffee, energy drinks, etc) would cause excess cortisol release.

Everyone here knows full well that Plazmosis is the undisputed king of pre workouts.
