Title: Portable exercise machines? Need help, Getbig!!
Post by: SF1900 on January 27, 2019, 11:28:56 AM
Can anyone recommend a portable stair climber or pedal to use at home and/or work? I recently read that sitting for extended periods of time is no good (obviously) and that we need move every so often. There was an interesting study about a tribe where the women were living for a really long time. It baffled researchers until they realized the women were using the machine to weave clothing, which required them to use their legs on an apparatus to weave the clothes, i.e., they were constantly "moving" even when seated.

I was thinking about purchasing something like this for home use and when I am at work. Do any gettbigers own something like this?

I'm sure any of them sold commercially will work.

Obviously.

But I asked if any getbigger owned one and their experience with it.

At my son's job they have desks that you can sit but they also adjust to standing. He alternates his day at this computer job.  Too much sitting his horrible for your health. People sit at their jobs for 40 hours then go to the gym where they sit in machines. If you can't find a at work solution then make sure every day you have 30 to 60 minutes of walking in addition to your lifting.

just take breaks during the day and do some body weight exercises. surely some squats or walk up and down the stairs is better than to keep seated and use a machine
