wow
I just heard their version a few days ago. I grew up listening to the original by Simon & Garfunkle and i always loved it...mind you i was a yung kid at the time.
BUT this version..............god damn it just goes to a completely different level of everything. This may be the most beautiful song ive ever heard. If this version doesnt make you "feel". Man i dont know. The message in the song is so deep and prophetic. And the way these guys sing and perform it gives that message such urgency. Its like Simon & Garfunkle were giving us a warning back in '64. And now Disturbed is like "we fucked up and didnt catch the warning". Amazing version/song

Been in the joint a few years or what?

shitty version 1/5
-
All subjective, but I think the Disturbed singers voice sounds dumb.
Like someone just trying to talking in deep voice.
-
yes and sings it poorly dragging out the words etc
what kinda shitty band is disturbed anyway? sounds like one of those new metal bands
ill see if i can find a better cover of that half-decent song (at best)
simon garfunkel did 99,9% shitty music didnt they
-
What a foo foo version. Besides- it’s just a freaking song. Nothing deep about any of them- most of the time the words are added in just to match the music- and most of the phrases could have been created by a monkey with a typewriter.
If you want something deep, read a book on quantum physics...

Yes, INCREDIBLE version
David Draiman nails it!
***goosebumps***

so good right!
such a different approach from the original. Just really nails home that urgency of the song
-
watched it and thought it was meh.. overhyped.
-
Blender magazine voted this the 42nd worst song ever (the original that is)
-
First time I heard this I was blown away. This is one of the most incredible performances I have ever seen. His vocal range is insane!

right?!
what i find most interesting is listening to the original and then this. Like i said in my orig post is that the original version is like a warning for us...and thats kinda how it sounds...very soft/light.
But this version is more anger. We didnt listen. Now look where we are

amazing...
'And the people bowed and prayed....
To the neon god they made'

On paper, I shouldn’t like Disturbed, but I do. I’m a fan. Own all the albums.
It’s mainstream, contemporary heavy metal with its own unique flavours.
David is a terrific vocalist.
The song and Disturbed’s version is great.

"People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening"

Complete pile of shit! Just like their version of Phil Collins' "Land of Confusion" LOC, completely fucked up what was otherwise a decent cd for them.
Like Godsmack, they were good early on. Now they've settled on a particular sound that caters to bikers and an mma match. Same thing for Hed PE after they put out "Suffa" and it caught on.
-
Saw a bunch of vocal female coaches on youtube getting wet panties over this song.
-
It's a f%*@ing abomination. Disturbed aren't a favourite of mine, but they've got some okay stuff. This cover is just horrific. A terrible performance vocally.
-
George Costanza is a singer now?
-
I always thought it was a shitty cover.
I recently discovered Greta Van Fleet. They sound just like Led Zep. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, it's up to you.
-
shitty version 1/5
This.
And I'm sick to death of that cover of "Zombie" by the Cranberries, whoever did it.

Love this band. Just like Zepplin but new and fresh. I've been waiting for a band like this to come out for a long time.

David Draiman is a trained cantor (hazzan). Definitely a getbigger. He once threw a classmate from a second story window during an altercation while lifting weights.
-
Another awesome cover
-
check out five finger death punch heavy metal version of bad company's song bad company.
