Have you ever used that kind of machine ???
What's your opinion ?
-
I like most of their stuff, including this one. You have to try it yourself to know.
-
First of all it's a machine, second, it ain't isolateral.
If want to purchase it, don't. If you want to try it, go ahead, just don't make it an regular routine.
-
I use it every so often just to switch it up from incline presses, probably once a month. I like it for something different, which you need to do on everything.
-
never seen one of THOSE before...

EXCELLENT in-the-box thinking! FYI barbells aren't terribly isolateral either. Some of the top guys will tell you that in some cases machines are better.
Bottom line, whatever works baby! If it works the muscles as well or better than other means, use it regularly. On any form of resistance, it's all about progression, which I find these machines are better at facilitating. ::)

Dont like it. I like the hammer strength its iso lateral. Just my personal choice
-
I tried that one at my uncle's yesterday. I have to admit its better than the machines at my gym. Granted, I'd take a barbell over it any day, but for a machine I think its one of the better ones, fairly compact too.
-
Hillarious how many are convinced that a barbell's the holy grail. Realistically if balance and stabilizer issues were really so crucial to development, the barbell wouldn't exist-everyone would use dumbbells. ::) ;D Top guys should never consider machines, according to this silly notion, even with clear examples in which machines are more efficient. LOL

It seem's than, with the photo of the machine, that you can only use one grip/hand position. For the sake of variety/development, if you wanted to use a closer or wider grip you would be out of luck. Or there may be some attachments for grip adjustment that is not shown. Also that machine is not going to follow the natural strength/leverage curve of the over the body BP. It that does not discourage you than you might try one out at first to see if it fits your goals. Some machines look good but can be all wrong for your body/leverage type. Check around for a used one. If you live in a big urban area the better the chance of getting a good price. If you get a new one and it has to be shipped than the cost can be half as much at the machine it's self. Good Luck.

i have the early version of this machine and it comes with a straight bar that fits into the end for close grip work or other grips. i like the old version, only thing with the new version you can also do 90 degree upright presses.

It's ok.
On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) I would say an 8.
It's doesn't replace freeweights, but it's safe & practical.
Very Smooth.

they have something like that at one of the gyms in my area...I put up 360lbs first time on it for 8 reps...it seemed really easy to me..I did not like it very much, felt like I was working way to little for that much weight.

How much does it cost? Second question is how many months of gym membership will that cover including the plates you will have to buy?
Just my thoughts!

$449 (but can be found cheaper...thats just MSRP)
Plates are running here & there between 60-70 cents per pound (standard cast)
Rubber plates can range between ($1.50-$3.00)per pound.
*unless you can find them at a garage sale cheap*

i like the design except for the fact that you cannot vary ur grip width. that's a big problem with me so i woudn't buy it.
