Post by: Coach is Back! on February 16, 2019, 10:34:34 AM
Going for his 8th consecutive win at 43. Winner of this fights meets Ryan Bader for the HW Championship. We've had a great 7 week camp.

Do they have strict PED tests in Bellator? Is it like the UFC or more lax making it a better option for fighters as they get older?

Were Bellator the ones that put on Kimbo Slice vs that obese rapper weirdo dude and they both gassed and ended up flopping about like fish out of water? I think one of them nearly died in the cage because he was so unfit and it was one of the worst fights of all time!"

Try to keep up with the times. Kimbo has been dead for a long time. UFC and Dana White now has to resort to circus acts and letting his money fighter fight dirty just stay alive. I know plenty of fighters in the UFC and every one of them says their gone after their contracts are up. The UFC is a shit show from top to bottom. Their gyms are nice tho

Yeah, the UFC was sold at the perfect moment and has been going downhill since. Dana comes across as a real dick, I will be pleased if loads of fighters leave and the UFC have to shake things up and pay the fighters more.

Is your mate who is fighting tonight getting good money? Cheick Kongo I think he is?

Yes, Kongo. I’ve said that the UFC’s years are numbered.

Like I said. When most of these guys contracts are up, they’re gone and the ones that have left have nothing good to say about Dana or the UFC as an organization. Really started going down as well when Joe Silva, their matchmaker left.

UFC has a serious problem. The rankings are suspect. The top fighters rarely fight so how can the rankings be justified?  UFC keeps the majority of the venue, pay per view and the all the products licensed to sell. The fighters receive chump change and their fighting life has a short shelf life.  Other fighting organizations are keeping less money and paying the fighters a bigger piece of the pie. Their rankings are more believable. When a top boxer makes 10 to 20 million a fight and top UFC guy gets 200K to a million you know this is BS when the pay per view is getting a sick amount of millions.

Check out what the fighters are getting paid for the next heavy weight boxing championship.  20 to 30 million is a real guess. What is the next heavy weight purse for UFC?  Million each?  Maybe 500K each?

for that to be relevant we must compare how much boxing makes on that fight and how much ufc makes on their fight, do you have those numbers?

Some of the circus match ups are real fights but only for viewership. Some of these guys haven’t came up through the ranks to even be qualified to fight at the pro level.

Heavyweight champion Ryan Bader? LOL. I remember when he had lost 4 out of 7 fights in the UFC. He got to knock out Fedor 10 years out of his prime, and now fights Kongo? How many cans are they feeding him?

Damn, the announcers hate Kongo.

They were shitting on him throughout the entire fight, saying he was trigger shy and unable to use his right hand.

Can’t lie. I was saying the same thing. Should have unloaded sooner but hey, a win is a win and I’m just the S&C coach.

Congrats Kongo, very impressive 8 on the bounce (even if you are juiced to the hilt!)  ;D

They have to remember that the guy is well out of his prime. Seeing an opening and hitting it isn't so easy as a fighter approaches his mid 40s. The Bellator promotion also seems to disrespect Kongo. He wasn't even invited to the Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament which included a bunch of bums.

I think you delivered on the part of an S&C coach. He looked physically great, maintained his speed and didn't gas throughout the fight, which is a true testament to your work.

I wondered what was going on with his lack of engagement, but he moves on to face the Bader, which is what counts in terms of money.

And to be fair, I thought the entire card suck. MVP vs Daley was boring as fuck and I didn't think MVP won that fight.

I didnt think MVP won that fight either but then again I can’t stand him. He’s like a wannabe Anderson Silva except much more cocky. Despite the height and reach advantage Paul did great and has a TON of power.

We all thought Kongo was disrespected when Coker wasn’t giving him his shot until we found out that him not getting the shot was a matter of business. Why? Even though he wins, with some as quick as the first round, he’s not a flashy fighter but here’s the real reason, he’s respectful of his opponents (except when he fought Ollie then it was personal) he doesn’t talk shit or call out his next opponent during the after fight interviews. In other words, he doesn’t like the hype that drives viewership or to hype the next fight. It’s not a revenue driver

Either Kongo connects when Ryan "The Master" Bader goes for a takedown and knocks him out (his only shot), or Bader will take him down, which will be game over for Kongo.

No, but "Coach is back", he also helps Kongo with his strength and cardio.
