let's be honest, especially if you're a natty and not in your 20's, sometimes pack yr shit and head to the gym it's not easy.
I'm pretty consistent but we all have those days.
So what you do to get extra motivation?
I use music a lot, and lately also ignore the planned workout and do my favorite body part or exercises.
Give me some ideas just in case :)

It's hard to be motivated each and every day. No matter who you are or what level you're at, we're all going to have those days. On days like that you just have to drag your ass in, get started and the rest will take over, by the end of the workout you'll be glad you did it. Personally, for me I need a goal and my goal this time is to compete so for the next year it's my job. What's your goal?

GOALS set small ones ..and for me I know I don't want to ever be embarrassed to take of my shirt come summer time..
I also like it when parents of other kids say to my boys THATS YOUR DAD

I go on Instagram and look up pictures of all the fit thotties that I want to fuck.
The blood starts to circulate, I get a stirring way down in my plumbs, I become filled with lust and hatred.
This is what keeps my motivated to train and stick to my diet.

do something new.

honestly I've kept at it for many decades (59 YO now) , just because I feel better for doing it. Doesn't take discipline, it's pleasure. No I don't bust my balls but so what.

At least you'll be able to walk and raise your arms above your head when you're 90.

I have to say everyone of my workouts is awesome lately, last 8-9 months, prior to that I had good and bad but that was mainly due to elbow and shoulder pain.

Fully agree with your post.
When I skip a day (maybe once every couple of months or so) I always feel like a loser, I feel bad.
Maybe I'm a little bit obsessed but how great is the feeling afterwards? When you were successful in dragging your ass to the gym

Well Dan you've got good genetics and for sure you're very committed and competent.
I train since 1992 but if I have to be honest I look roughly the same from '96-'97... So not an ego boost here

I'm following the same split : 4 on and 3 off (fri-sun).

I still do 90% of the time but last day of split is a nightmare

I know you asked this question in the setting of being a natural, but would you consider getting on HRT?
With HRT, you would feel much better every day. More strength, better stamina, drive and improved recovery during workouts, not to mention quicker gains.

I'm having some issues with that now... clicking, cracking, sticking, pain. I'm only 52. What about 20-30 years from now?... yikes. 35 years training, 25 of those was hardcore. After I hit 50 everything started hurting and falling apart. When I look back now, I regret going balls to the wall every time and not taking more days off. Oh well, I had some fine glory days. Better to be a "has-been" than a "wanna-be".

it's (not so) funny but yeah, once you hit 50 things do start to creak and groan..
