SF1900 do you think Brad is all natural or do you think he was using some of the illegal supplements that Aaron and PJ were trying to get Vince Goodrum to sell?

Also why is Brad doing his leg pressing in those shorts, we would see more muscle if he wore a thong.

Agreed, he should wear a posing thong.

I think he uses mild steronz with good nutrient timing.

Actually, it's more than 1,260 pounds if you add the sled.

Well that's what I like about the video. Brad is humble.

Anyone else would add the weight of the sled, Brad's motto is, "If it's not a plate or bar than I dont count the weight."

I wish more bodylifters were like him.

Kreator, would you spot BC in the gym, then drink a protein shake with him in the locker room?

Castleberry has a great build- regardless if he lifts questionable weights. Mike O’Hearn has an amazing physique whether or not he does drugs.

It’s entertainment.

I also don’t care how bands come up with songs or how actors do great performances. If it’s entertaining it’s good enough.

No way in hell, given sometime and no health problems or injuries I think wheels could be the best strongman/powerlifter yet.

I have done 400kg(850lbs) x 2 with the exact same form,on that type of machine that has stoppers that you can bounce a little bit off at the bottom.

Those machines are rare but they are excellent for safety.

No way would I do it without the stoppers,I got trapped underneath once on a regular machine and nearly crushed me to death.

I cringe whenever anybody does a deep rep on the leg press machine. Might as well kiss your spine goodbye eventually. Quarter Reps are far better for you.

Stuart McGill, a famous spine researcher says this:

“the leg press sometimes causes the pelvis to rotate away from the back rest when the weight is lowered. The resultant lumbar flexion produces herniating conditions for the disc!”

Ronnie did more reps at almost double the weight! Way more impressive than Castleberry - who is not weak either. Castleberry did it raw though without wraps which is crazy if you ask me. The guy is just asking for an injury.

Quarter reps didn’t help Ronnie in the spine/back situation

Quarter pounders didn’t help pellius’s situation either

Let's get that protractor out, lol.  Sure isn't a quarter rep there.

By the way, McGill said that if you look at the starting position of a leg press it is the equivalent of starting a squat essentially doubled over. Talk about bad physics for your vertebrae!

I wonder if anyone has ever died leg pressing?  It seems the blood pressure must be sky high using that much weight especially for reps.  I know Jon Pall Sigmarsson died deadlifting.

If anything I know a lot of spirits were crushed at the metro flex when Ronnie dominated that machine.

Yeah,I stand corrected....not quarter reps with Ronnie, but not full reps either.

Very rarely does anyone go the full reps with a load of weight,it is difficult.

Yates is an example.

does anyone else hold their knees on the heavier weights?

also that weight really shoves your waist and lower back into the seat. even clothing seams become uncomfortable. you can see how pale Brad's back is when he stands up from the blood being squeezed out.

so in order for brad castleberrys leg press lift to be impressive it has to be DOUBLE the weight he pressed.

why can not somebod inform him of this and tell him to shut the fuck up until he press twice as much?
Title: Re: Brad Castleberry...... 1,260 pound leg press
Post by: oldtimer1 on March 18, 2019, 11:33:59 AM
Every leg press I have used is built different. Some machines because of the angles and foot platform either cuts the weight you can use or increases it.

Brad had a pretty good range of motion. I like the way Yates did them. Low back board and he really bent his legs.  I have a cheap home unit. It's a parabody serious steel version. It would never survive commercial gym use but it's still the best leg press machine I have ever used. It almost seems the guy who designed it made it custom for me. Perfect in every way. Now the hack part of the machine isn't optimal because the the stoppers cuts the range of motion before I hit rock bottom.

One thing for sure. Make sure the leg press machine has safety stoppers. Ultimately if they are adjustable is a big plus. The gym I work out in has a leg press machine with zero stoppers. The carriage can ride all the way down crushing a guy if he blows out a knee.
