It's not going to effect any kids. I'm trying to figure out why federal dollars were even going to a charity in the first place, outside of research grants. We don't even fund our regular Olympic team. It was the same thing with "Meals on Wheels" a couple years back. Media was reporting that Trump was ending the program. He just cut back the money going to the program which only represented 3% of their total revenue anyway. Meals on wheels didn't miss a beat and neither will the Special Olympics.

You can't approximate the cost of a trip to Mar a lago. That number (3.6 million) they're using is based off a 4 day Trip Obama took to Chicago and then Palm Beach in 2013. Also people act like Mar a lago is a vacation. Multiple prime ministers have met at Mar a lago. We're incredibly lucky to have a billionaire President who can schmooze heads of state at his 100 million dollar private residence. Although he would give people less to talk about if he didn't go there as often.
