Yeah we know Russell has 10 rings, but it's not just about rings but rings hold a lot of weight. LeBron is 3 and f u cking 6 in the finals and one he won was because a player (Dreymond) was suspended and Kyrie was just as important IMO.
This sob wears his "idols" number has a shit record and think he's going to pad his career with numbers and that will make up for it? Hell no. You're not moving the finish line. That's some millennial coddling bullshit. Accept your fate and quit this bullshit. You're a coach killer, players don't like playing with you, you suck at free throws, you'really uncoachable, don't play defense. You're incredible but you're not better than MJ. He's the GOAT. Deal with it.......F u c k I n g asshole.
3-6 asshole, this is what you play for. vs. 6-0
Go sit in one of the math classes of the school you built.

Different sports of course, but Tom Brady is impressive the more you look at his resume
-
The ring from Cleveland will be his greatest achievement, because for a year that was a real team that formed not just a series of personnel purchases.
He's at the age now where one injury will end his normal game like what happened with Kobe. The young guys LeBron plays with will see he's slowing down if they already haven't noticed and will stop letting him be coach.
There are a lot of better players but I can't argue he's in the top 10. Would not have had those numbers in the 80s. No flop zone. Bad Boys, Knicks, etc.

How can Michael Jordan be the GOAT when he spent the prime of his career wanting to be Tiger Woods?

::) lol well played.
Being Tiger Woods wasnt an option when Jordan was in his prime. And Jordan wouldn't have satisfied being Tiger, he would had have to be even more dominant.
Let's not forgot he walked away at his PEAK and took up baseball and was respectable at the end of his tenure in the minors.
MJ > LBJ

Really, he's 0-0. He had to become a player/gm who put super teams around him to get anywhere. I thought he was a good player, and a decent dude until the "takin my talents...." fiasco. Still thought he was good, but just arrogant and a guy who couldn't persevere. Now the MJ diss, Trump, and his HBO show have showed us he is a very low character guy, a spoiled millenial, and a fucking racist to boot.
He will not even be remembered as fondly as the rapist Kobe.....he's not even within 5 players of being the icon and game changer that MJ was....actually, still is as far as being an icon goes.

I see our resident racist Wiggs is in a T-Faggin mood. Fuck the NBA.

People give Lebron as much credit for just getting to the finals as other people get for winning rings. Maybe even more. Never mind that he was playing in a much weaker Eastern conference.
They also discount how much easier it is to get to the Finals when you hand pick your team every year and leave town as soon as your team's title window closes.
Now that he's in the West and doesn't have All-Star teammates he didn't even make the playoffs. Fuck him.

Well said.

the thing with being the goat is that it matters what sport we're talking about.
being the goat in basketball is like being the goat of waterpolo.
-
He basically shut that talk down all on his own by going to the west and proving all of the critics right that he was a product of being in the east, etc.
-
I still don't think he's even better than Kobe. The MJ comparison needs to stop, it's not even close he needs to be considered better than Kobe first.
Anyone here ever see Jordan live? Saw him twice in the old arena in Chicago, what he did was different. Did things with style, grace, and true toughness.
-
I've never been a fan of the NBA, but during Jordan's tenure, I could not stop watching. For me, he revolutionized the way the game was played, not because he reinvented the way in which they dribble or score, but because of how he played. He had a level of class and dominance that would create a magnetic pull towards those watching on TV or in attendance.
As a New Yorker, I attended every single game at Madison Square Garden to see the Knicks play the Bulls. I knew damn well that every time Jordan was in town, we would get raped. With that said, I simply brought the lubrication to make the penetration smoother.

Kobe would fuck em all up one on one and even he wouldn't dare claim in any serious way that he was the GOAT in public.

Kobe ranked himself above MJ and Lebron on video last week in an interview lol!
With that said, Jordan is the greatest ever, followed by Wilt and then Kareem, and then Lebron.
Statistically Lebron is better than Kobe in every single measurable stat other than free throw percentage. Quite honestly, Kobe is one of the most overrated players of all time. I'd have him ranked around 12-15 all time, but some people put him in the top 5 lol!

He was joking.
The NBA is a team game so there is much more to being the GOAT than just stats or being good at one on one.
The best player on the team can help elevate everyone else on the team to be better than the sum of their parts. MJ did that much better than Kobe and Lebron. MJ was there more often in the big games, the big moments. The term clutch gets thrown around, but MJ was more than that. He made it so there was no reason for him to be "clutch". Games were turned by him and they stayed that way. The man was relentless and he installed that mindset in those playing with him too.
One on one, he'd still lose more often to Kobe.
-
Kobe is better than Lebron. After what happened to Lebron in the Western conference this year, Kobe's 5 rings are starting to look even more impressive.
-

being the goat in basketball is like being the goat of waterpolo.
Especially when many of these guys can now dunk with just a small hop or standing on their tip-toes.
Kevin Durant's shots are like line drive throws at the hoop he's so tall and lanky. There's no arc or finesse to most of his shots. When I watched the finals with him and saw it from the first time I just thought it looked so strange, and then I figured out why.

He might not be the greatest, but he definitely deserves to be in the conversation. And IMO he beats Jordan if they played 1-on-1.

I didn't mention playing one on one lol!
You mention making your teammates better, in that regard I would also rank Lebron above Kobe in that as well.
When Lebron retires, he will widely be considered the second greatest player of all time by most people. Lots of analysts already consider him to be. He will never be considered better than Jordan, simply because of his finals record compared to Jordan.
-
If Lebron makes his teammates better then why were the Lakers 35-47 last season without him and 35-43 so far this year with him. Same core...Lonzo, Kuzma, Ingram.

Never said you did champ. I simply just listed to facets of the game which alone don't make a player the GOAT.
Kobe and MJ both happy bald men. Lebron happy to work with a horrible hairline
