Goodmorrow,
Watching that DLB update video and noticing he was a "coach" had me wondering. How many on here are legitimate Coaches? Now, how does one become a "Coach?" I'm assuming this is the "bodybuilding" type of coach and not the High School Coach that I can understand goes to school and get credits for.
If you are a coach please detail your "journey" into becoming one. The highs and lows or your career.
Thank You.
STAY POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You get a personal trainer certificate online and then you are a coach.
Go to Google images and print one out and insert your name. Saves a few bucks and is the same thing.

No, it's not true. What this gimmick and the other posters in this thread have described is nothing more than drug dealers and rep counters. That's not coaching.

Start here. It doesn't matter if you prep bodybuilders or coach youth sports, HS sports or Elite athletes. The same principals should apply (or variations of it). If the athlete or bodybuilder doesn't make a connection to the coach or buy into the program, you're not doing your job as a "coach'.
There are some very good coaches that I've seen in bodybuilding that can almost fit this description, Neil Hill comes to mind. Charles Glass (because I see him everyday work with his clients).
I've been a coach for 15 years. I apply the same principals with my bodybuilding clients as I do my HS and college players (Yes, I'm coaching at a college as well). There are quite a few former D1 athletes on here that have had great coaches. They should know what I'm talking about.

Agreed but their are many so called coaches that don't really have the correct knowledge and try to pass off as one that was my only point

We will all be on the lookout now because of this.

You have probably prevented some of us some angst and money loss by being more cautious of fake coaches now.

Instagram twinks hire a bodybuilding "coach" for their 1st show. He gets prepped, has his diet done, drug protocol, etc.
Now he is a coach and starts advertising his services. Industry is loaded w/ tools like that these days. (Frank Zane didn't need a coach).
Real coaches like Joe are actually that and have put in the time/effort.
Modern day BB coaches and industry are a bit of a joke.

Anybody can be a coach. 99% of them are clueless about the anatomy and dynamics of human body. Especially meatheads.
