Im thinking kingsford charcoal briquettes may be healthy, its pure carbon, anticarcinogeneic, its just not as useful as activated charcoal because the surface area doesnt have as many pores to absorb the toxins..... Burnt toast also 'seems' as good as activated charcoal.
