When human beings are used as animation elements, it is call "Pixelation"...not to be confused with what happens with a slow connection.

Surely, but this one beats Leo DiCapriciossas birthday any day of the week.

Those must have taken a long time to film.

Also...
They had to complete each take quickly enough so as not to "lose the light"...That is quickly enough so that you don't see the shadows move as the sun does.

This was the last feature film shot by the Nazi's at the end of WWII...The principal photography was finished just before the Russians advanced through...20:00 Hans Brausewetter, the fruity guy in the smoking robe, would be killed as a civilian casualty during the Battle of Berlin on April 29, 1945...The movie was assembled after the War was finished...Dig the Agfacolor, it has a patina almost like an oil painting....
Although a Nazi produced film, there is no politics in it, thus it had a fairly wide distribution after the war.
Interestingly, this movie shows what Germans think of Austrians...

Here is the first episode of a serial intended for theatres in Canada..."King of the Mounties"...
Shot just east of Los Angeles.
Except for a few seconds near the end, the original dialog tracks have been lost...So they restored it as a silent picture with newly recorded music from the original Republic sheet music library and sound effects.
Ironically, (because you can't hear him) the guy playing the lead did the voice of "Mr Ed."
Edit: I think the title sequences were wardrobe tests, and the thing on the table that "Professor Brent" is handling is a soundboard.
