The way economies work best is when you allow dynamism. Old dying industries get replaced by new ones. The best way to shut that down is via taxation and regulation.

The economy started to turn when the Republicans took congress in 2010 and shut down Obama’s silly stimulus programs and it really picked up steam when Trump won and businesses felt confident that they weren’t going to be bludgeoned by an anti-business administration.

He rolled back regulation on coal. Look at the ash storage facilities and the ash pond liner systems. All were supposed to have been replaced by 2019 under Obama but now the power companies can police themselves. Fly ash is a bad thing and should be regulated and watched over. Most power plants are near rivers, so to have the heavy metals being able to leach into the rivers is bad.
