Title: Genetics and Bodybuilding BS
Post by: Pet shop boys on May 07, 2019, 05:33:35 AM
While Lee Priest tells to him self that 90 % of drugs (steroids) users look like shit ......

I think that those who start bodybuilding  young, and do the drugs or hire someone that knows how to cycle properly , about 90 % can turn pro at some point ....yes , 90 % !  they might not win the Mr.O or necessarily place top 6  but after 30 years in this business if there's something that never never ceases to amaze me is the drug transformation I see every time  ( when you know what you're doing ) someone with average genetics go to an impressive powerhouse BB then goes off and looks like utter Shit .....  back and forth ....

The 10 % that won't turn pro no matter what or don't have the genetics to become  champions:  I'd trow this 2 fellas who have done practically everything under the sun to be Super muscular ...and in return they look vascular and good " but  older than they really are .... plus the effort ,$$$ and health risk is way too high for the reward

Dr. Tony Huge is/was an a very Attorney in North Cal. The Guy is Rich and look really good.
Do you think he would trade his million of dollars to be a "Pro" Bodybuilder?

It's genetics in the sense who can withstand the most amount of drugs without dying. Nick Trigili is a good example. He took everything under the sun, in absolutely insane dosages but his body started breaking down and he had to reign things in before serious shit happened. Dexter is another good example of genetics. He can tolerate massive amounts of drugs and has been lucky not to experience too many health problems.

Not a chance in hell. The guy is living his dream. He's turned down more pussy than most men get.
Good for him I say.
Good point tho Joe--everybody here criticises him but quietly they're jealous as hell.

Those Pros prolly hate guys like Brad Castleberry, Calum and Bradley Martin. Driving nice cars, living in good areas and getting more pussy that they will ever get being 280 pounds off season looking  as fat as a Bologna Sandwich.  Do they take PDEs? Of course, but its probably 1/4 less than those guys
Even Mike Matarazzo, that was a very good pro, confessed on a video, on other thread, that his life at 42 years old was a mess and had only 20% of his heart functioning properly. Fast forward, he lived only 6 more years...

With social media, a lot of their life is just an illusion.

He is putting his health in jeopardy and looks 55 when he's not even 45 (I think)

He has to have his blood routinely drained out because it is too thick and sludgy and could kill him.

Not exactly a lifestyle most people would want.

Lobliner has a decent Body, but is too short. Dont know if theyre living on the edge, but the Pros certainly are...

Genetics plays multiple role in bodybuilding: First of all, you should start training by lifting years without any drugs just to see if your genetics are for the sport at all. If you can build muscles as a natural, do it. If not, find another hobby. Secondly, it rules the shape of your muscles and your body. For example, after 5 years of training as a natural you look like a upright standing toad, find another hobby. If you look like an athlete, just continue. And if you continue, it rules how the drugs will work for you, and what are your limits. If drugs make you look like a bloated turd, just find another hobby. It may save your life.. ;D

Lol no pro bbers ever start lifting weights for years naturally, at least very rarely , most of them hop on a little test and then gradually (some even start cycling all at once) up the dosages, etc

It’s becoming more and more attainable with new divisions like wellness division and men’s physique the past decade, and not just overall winners either

What nationality are you? You claim Australian but you always speak in broken English. No true Australian says the word "sneakers". I'm Australian and you sound like a "wog" to me. Yugoslav or Eastern European maybe.

SDS,City Beach & others sell 'sneakers'  ;)

I buy 'sneakers' (Palladium brand) from Amazon.com ,  Adidas at airports shops  :)

Amazon.AU is overprice !.

Exactly.  Genetic wonders like flex wheeler and Levrone became pro really fast but they were using steroids early in life even diuretics.  You can respond faster than others but is still the juice that is taking you there.   Don't get me wrong ,  you do need to know what you're doing and willing to inject religiously. Is a sacrifice.... A narcissist one ? Maybe But it takes balls to put drugs in your body constantly for so many years.  Sadly There's no talent behind it. Maybe that's why society don't look up to great bodybuilders whether is cheating or not.

maybe dexter can tolerate it because he doesn't need massive dosages to be an elite pro, he can be elite while competing at a much smaller weight than most

guys like nasser weren't placing well at lower body weights, he had to become a mass monster to be elite which means using more drugs

frank zane Had the best approach

train hard, be healthy, lots of rest in the off season (off PEDs) and then "grow into the show" and kill it for 10-16 weeks.

In your opinion you think some pros likely come off all drugs, not just lowering the dosages, but cold turkey?

From my experience, the approach was always off the “hard” stuff , but test and a few other things are always in the system, maybe in lower dosages, but I’ve never seen cold turkey

You think they are doing everything to a T, food, training, cycles, all on point.....

Didn’t say you don’t need genetics, it’s number 1, but gym “heroes” I will bet aren’t doing national level or pro stacks, there are a lot of gifted guys, they rather put their effort in basketball, football, futbol, etc...

Even Phil said he couldn’t make it in basketball after college so he turned to bbing

Very niche “sport” with very little return

Beat me to it.  Gym heroes " don't eat 7 plus meals a day don't live by the syringe and drink alcohol and chase pussy on the weekends.   They're just showing off at the gym for few years then they grow out of it.  Decent bodybuilders have work ethic/ mindset and a decent knowledge of drugs and diuretics.

-in mens open bbing the answer is no - since it is a game of size which requires chemical warfare.
-in mens classic, i would say - yes - pros can come off 100% and then juice into the show and do fine. since size isnt as important.

frank zane was around 185lbs to 200lbs so he could come off and "grow into the show"

i will test the "grow into the show" very soon.  my receptors are pretty much "virgin" as they can be
