Never truly appreciated the amount of oil in Flex’s arms until I just watched this.

Think his kidneys went bad from his kidneys trying to filter out that oil that was in his blood stream?
-
Changing your oil regularly is the single best thing you can do for your engine.
Don't let dirty, particle filled oil reduce your engine's performance.
See your owner's manual for the oil change intervals recommended for your engine.
-
flex alone was the reason for the oil crisis in the 90s
-
He was dealing with kidney issues since the mid 90's ....that 93 year almost killed him
WoooSHHHHHHHH 0% BF
-
He had poor genetics for longevity and health

Ernie Taylor was the original Exxon Valdez of that era.

Hate to say it but he does look good there. And whoever did his oil for him did a great job. Not like some pros you see now looking like a giant mosquito bit them.

I remember the training articles in Flex magazine which played along with his scam. Otherwise a pretty good physique.

Ernie had the strongest seated triceps extension ever. Documented by Flex magazine. :D

I'd like to see a recent pic of Ernie and see how lumpy his arms look now. Maybe the oil dispersed over the years.

Flex had the perfect build in my eyes.Round as fuck shoulders, arms, calves.Looked fucking crazy.

He was also famous for being a tuna shake guy (canned tuna blended with diet Coke) during those years. Also dated Ms O, Andrulla Blanchette. Blanchette would also do schmoe work if you met her price. Off topic, but it's just one of those weird asides you remember.

Based on this video, they might be ok - https://www.facebook.com/emporiumgym.birmingham/videos/1352119974899453/ .

And for gear use.
Constitution of a shrew.

Never had the heart to try it, I once had a chicken shake and that was bad enough. Tuna in V8 vegetable juice was the only version of a tuna shake that sounded halfway decent.
Here's a bunch of recipes for them from around the mid 90's -

Tastes just like a vanilla shake

Early Flex USA win and his first iron man he probably presented one of the best 3 physiques of all time in my opinion.

He keeps them covered. Surprise! Not.

His 1st Olympia showing was probably his best Olympia showing. Unfortunately for him, he ran into the GOAT. Mr. Dorian Yates.

Don't ask me why, but a couple years back I had 72 hrs burning a hole in my pocket and happened to read a book of his.
To say he is oblivious to real life is an understatement. One of the things I found most crazy is that throughout the book, he constantly refers to himself as a professional athlete.
My first thought was that this low life no job drug addict was completely delusional.
It then made me wonder if all drug addict bodybuilders look at themselves as "athletes", and that is how they justify their drug use.
He may be different now, but I basically came away with the impression that he is a complete fucking moron.

I’ve met and hung with Flex. He’s a turd. Having said this, in his prime (early ‘90s), he was a comic character.
One time I attended one of his “seminars”. For over two hours he presented to us pics of his various conditions on stage and nit picked the contrasting two-or-three pound water retention fluctuations between them. At the end, each and every one of the dozen or so attendees were about ready to dive off a bridge into oncoming traffic.
Athlete indeed.

I found Flex to be a total arsehole around venice mid 90s, but i dont know anyone who could take the amount of test he was taking and not be one. Absolute pig of a person and forget the ninja stuff he was also a coward away from his pack. Funny enough saw Rico there last week training people, still golds venice but its no where near what it was 10-20 years ago the legend is gone.

Late 90’s and early 2000’s it was still great, I couldn’t care less about it now

93 asc flex is the most eye pleasing physique to be on stage in the page 30 years .

Along with Dorian in that years olympia I think they are the two best presentation of physiques ever. Neither of them were either anywhere near their best again, Even Flex was off by the olympia, theres no doubt that showing earlier in the year prompted Yates to be at his very best. I still think Doz would have beaten him but not by much and really just lower legs and back from a point of completeness, plus his waist hadn't blown out , I don't think any other olympia winning version of Dorian could have beaten Flex 93 Ironman ASC. But they both went downhill after 93 IMO. Justifying Yates further wins.
