Title: Football/Soccer boring?
Post by: Darren Avey on May 09, 2019, 01:51:15 AM
If you think soccer is boring just watch this weeks two champions league semi finals. Unbelievable stuff and I don't even support any of the teams playing.
Only the seconds before the announcement of the Mr O winner can better the excitement of these two games.

Rugby is great, yes. Not so keen on NFL because they keep stopping. I like non stop action.
Like bodybuilding contests.

Both were great games.

BigCyp must be delighted. I know he was a big Tottenham fan. Their game in the previous round against City was probably the best game I've seen in years.

There's way too may players on the field at one time in soccer. I believe that's the main reason why there's such a lack of scoring. You hardly ever see a breakaway goal where it's one on one with the goalie. Either reduce the amount of players on the field at one time or institute a power play system similar to hockey. If a player receives a yellow card, he sits on the bench for 10 minutes to give the other team a one player advantage. Just my .02.

Used to play soccer but stand watching it now unless it's the playoffs because of all the stops due to fake fouls. If someone is in such agony (rolling on the ground with their mouths wide open reeling in pain) after a foul then they should have to sit out for 10mns to recover. The hokey playoffs have been great. These guys take real hits yet keep on playing, no fake reeling in pain while rolling around on the ice.

Agreed.  In the 1980's they had indoor soccer in the U.S.  It was like ice hockey played on turf and the teams both scored over 10 goals a game.
