Wes there are now different types of pull ups.
How did we ever survive with just one "type". ::)

Kips are not pull ups. Imagine doing that in the Marine Corps? First they would count zero and second they would have him doing that for about an hour to teach him a lesson about cheating the exercise. Bodybuilders are no better. Go in every gym and watch guys doing half chest presses with flat, incline, and decline presses especially with dumbbells. Then shoulder presses with half reps seated so they can slide their ass out to incline the weight. Don't get me going on leg presses and dead lifting with the bar raised in a power rack.

I had to correct the guy I lift with in seated shoulder presses his ass is out 10” so it’s an incline and when I corrected his reps cut in half. Also half reps on shoulder presses are retarded.I like to touch my shoulders then up.Only cheating yourself.

True, make an exercise hard so it stresses the muscle. Too many are stroking their ego and trying to impress others in the gym. A guy relayed a story about Tom Platz saying he first did flies with around 45lbs then went to pumping out reps with 135lbs in the bench. Here was a top of the food chain bodybuilder working his ass off making a light weight heavy through proper form, cadence and short rests between sets.
I'm not a strong guy. I weigh on a good day 180lbs. I use in general 80lbs dumbbells on the flat bench. I could use well over 100lbs if I short stroked it every rep like 85% of the guys.

Why did Platz use this same training technique with squats?
Seems like he shorted his upper body development .

Why did Platz use this same training technique with squats?
Constant tension.
I always did full range of motion on all reps of every exercise except when I may have done partial reps at the end of a set to further tax a muscle group.
These fucks today with their partial reps right from jump street would use a fraction of the weight they do if a full range of motion was used.
I love when someone claims a huge lift then when you see him perform it,it`s a fucking 1/4 rep. :(

You always bring up rack pulls, what do you have against them?
-
What the fuck? Looks like a fucking orangutan swinging from the roof of its cage when it sees the zookeeper fetching its bait

Imagine the world actually believing and UNDERSTANDING that muscle is built by time under tension.

Easy there, don't let the PTSD come back on you.

Lol I think it's always been this way.
I just thought it was an interesting comment about Platz considering how he trained legs.

Tom Platz used "proper form"? You gotta be kidding me, he used the worst form out of any bodybuilder ever.
There is also no such thing as full range of motion. Very few exercises fully stretch a muscle and contract the muscle to its shortest. Think about it.
Muscles respond to tension, the rest is secondary.

When she said 10 and the dude goes "Zero" I fucking died! Pretty funny shit all around to be honest.
I wonder how many completely legit strict pull ups this beta male could actually do. Think he could even do 20?

He is 5’5” ;D
