Quote
It: Chapter Two is an upcoming American supernatural horror film and the sequel to the 2017 film IT. Both films are based on the 1986 novel IT by Stephen King. The sequel film is directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Gary Dauberman.

Set in 2016, 27 years after the events of 1989 depicted in the first film, it stars Bill Skarsgård, who reprises his role as Pennywise. It also stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, and Andy Bean, who portray the adult versions of The Losers Club, while Jaeden Martell, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Wyatt Oleff return from the first film as the younger Losers, respectively.

The film is produced by New Line Cinema, Vertigo Entertainment, and Rideback, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The film is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on September 6, 2019.

Saw the first one last year. It was good, although I still prefer the original IT.

Yeah, the great Tim Curry is cool.

But the spider-like thing at the end lost me.

Right then, it really reeked of a TV budget.

Most of the tv mini-series made off of King's works were bad.

Storm of the Century was damn good.

The Stand was pretty good.

Legend.

It came out in 1985.

It stars Tom Cruise, Mia Sara and Tim Curry.

It was directed by Ridley Scott.

EDIT: SF1900 beat me to it.

Which movie was that?

If you watch it, make sure you watch the U.S. theatrical cut, not the slightly longer international cut.

Many complain about the international cut mainly because it uses different music, and not the Tangerine Dream music/soundtrack.

Oh, and Tim Curry does not play the Devil.

The movie clearly shows him talking to the Devil/Satan/Lucifer/whatever name you want to use.

He plays his son and his name is Darkness.

Yeah no shit, I don’t want to watch it because of the stupid ass ending. Totally killed the mini series.

I didn’t. Because I didn’t realize it was in two phases. Couldn’t watch after the whole deadlights/spider alien thing. I may watch though now.

No.

It is not something new.

It is the other half of the book.

In the first half of the book, they are children.

In the second half of the book, they are adults who come back to Dairy, Maine to finally take on Pennywise.

so its the same thing only theyre now adults (which is far more boring) and theyre taking him on - again only this time it's final.

seems like just another time king didnt know when to call it quits.

I heard that this thing is 2 hours and 45 minutes long.

Seriously?

I liked the first one/first part, but it does it really need to be this long to tell the story?

Jeez.

Is it that long? Crazy.

The first one was 2hr. 15min. I have the Blu-ray.

That means five hours of story. Too much.

Yep.

Five hours to tell one horror story.

I hope this director hasn't fallen in love with himself due to the success of Part One. ::)

Disappointing.

Too long and not enough Pennywise.

A lot of jokes. Too many for what should be a scary film.

A big letdown.

I thought the first one could have been a lot better for this very reason. Too many stupid/predictable jokes by the kid in glasses. It sounds stupid as well when you try and have kids act older than they are as well. Use older kids then or keep the dialogue more realistic. Came close to ruining it.

Thought that was strange (all the jokes). Who keeps joking that they are gonna die?
I love horror, this wasn't really horror (fantasy stuff maybe?), thought a few scene's were OK. Much too long of a film.

Not sure who Dr. Sleep is going to be either (Shining follow-up) looks weird/off.

Not much good main-stream horror anymore.  Hollyweird turned it all whacky. The new "47 meters down" and "crawl" were not very good, but I liked them better than "It Ch. 2".

I loved Part 1, but didn't really care for Part 2 anywhere near as much.  It was way too long for starters, and there were very few scares for a horror movie.
I'd still give it a 6/10, but I was hoping I'd like it way more than I did.

As with what happened to Star Wars, at some point the commercialization of the story just overrides the author's intent. Then again most of the movie adaptations of King's stuff was garbage so par for the course I guess. At least he's getting filthy rich for nothing but rehash. Doctor Sleep looks like a 20 year old movie from the looks of the trailer.

Well said.

And let's be honest...

A lot of King's books have terrible resolutions/endings. He is very overrated.

Sometimes, the movies were better.

The great Stanley Kubrick's film, "The Shining", was a lot better than the novel.

As I'm sure most know, the hedge maze was not in the novel, and the ending was totally different.

I greatly prefer the film over the novel.

Christine is another adaptation that I prefer over the novel. And I consider John Carpenter, its director, to be one of the most underrated directors of all time.

She seemed cool.

She was in the movie that was about getting bin Laden.

She was nominated for an Oscar for it.

Then she got into trouble on social media. I can't remember, but I think it was something about gays.

All of a sudden, she was Miss SJW. Probably always was.
