Powerlifting as it exists is stupid and makes no sense.

To make it competitive competitors should be measured by arm length, leg length, torso length and by weight.  When all of those criteria are met, they then should be matched together to see who the better lifter is.

Anything else is just a joke.

That's actually a very good, and thought-provoking point.

Might it all come out in the wash though? As in...my pressing is strong at the cost of my pulling.

Isn't that sort of how things even out?

Its all mechanics really.  Even people at the same height, same weight, same muscle mass can have wildly different lifts due to arm and leg length.

Its really a stupid sport because there is no way to really gauge who the better lifter is based off of the amount of work put it in.

Another option would be to have a Force Meter hooked up that measures over all force on a lift.  The person who generates the most is the winner.  You would not even need weights for this.

Agree If they measured the distance the bar travelled and worked it into the strength to weight ratio calculations somehow it would likley even things out.

There was a little fat barrel of shit on another forum years ago who was admittedly strong which would be fair enough but he would do his best to discredit others lifts and cry I’m only little and cite his weight, never mentioning at his height his weight per inch was the same as a 6 footer weighing 300lbs, he had a massive fat belly and the most ridiculous arch the bar barley moved6 inches

Should that formula apply to other sports also IE 100/200mtrs Sprinting / Strongman and many others to make them More equal. ?

It’s sport & some have better natural advantages than others End of.

That’s Based on The Wilks Formula I’m guessing
Lamar Gant - His best lifts at that weight I’d guess are superior

Still Very Good Heavy Lifting For Her / Him.

I wouldn't mind hitting it if she hadn't masculinized her face with steroids.

Bet she was fuckable as a petite but now it's wrong.
