I thought they make one with more horsepower and top end than that.

Link doesn't work.

Corvettes with lower and higher horsepower destroy the bloated boat known as the Challenger and Charger (all levels)

Handles like shit too.

Cool, as long as you don't consider it a sports car.  Its not at all.

as a big time mustang fan - sad to see the Cobra not offered in a 6 speed manual and no convertible.  i have opted for a Saleen and  Roush over the cobra both times due to better styling/appeal/boy racer vibes

It would be cool but you'd have to drive around at the speed limit or get tickets up the wazoo.

You could take it to your local dragstrip though.  Would be fun.

Pics!? I had a 2000 mustang GT in high school with bolt-ons, but it was still slow as hell. Back then, it only had 240 hp. It’s pitiful that my Sierra Denali 6.2L could beat it 0-60 and in the 1/4. My dream car in the long-term is a Shelby Cobra 427 replica

Will be cool to buy one of these for 20k in 5 years. I love buying a garaged 5-10 year old toy with 30k miles on it for a 1/3 of new price. I'll never take that new car beating again.

The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 can cost up to $100K with taxes and the track package. That's a lot for a Ford. And you're going to need a daily driver.

Dodge fucked the original hellcat owners. It was supposed to be a limited run. People paid insane after market prices for them. The. They decided to release a second limited run and same thing happened and now they just diluted the shit out of the market.

Nothing factory made is "rare" and no company would pass up the opportunity to sell cars of this price over and over. They're making a killing and then the dealers are marking them up over sticker.

Someday they'll slap the Hellcat name on a new Neon or Omni and people will pay too much for those as well.  :D

Ive got the 2018 Challenger 392 TA. A "mere" 485 HP. Love the car. Yes, its big and heavy, yes, a corvette or 5.0 Mustang would beat it on a road track.. I don't care.. it's comfortable, looks bad ass and is quick enough for me. I think the Demon and Hellcat would be overkill for how I drive my car.

Impressive HP, ancient chassis, overweight.  Far from industry leading fit & finish.

6.2L Camaro or 5.0L Mustang both closer to “sports car” with impressive handling and more current chassis technology .  Significantly less $.  Bragging rights go to Mopar.  GT350 seriously superior driver’s car for less $.  I don’t even like Ford, but their platform is better.

Challenger and Charger both one-trick pony straight line cars.  Comic book styling is tired to my eyes.

Not really a car guy, but what about the viper?  I think I remember seeing that those retail around 85k and probably performs a lot better in the handling department.

Agreed. Same way they put SRT styling on low end models. But it’s all about money so can’t blame them.

Pics!?

I had a 2006 Saleen Extreme 6 speed coupe - this car was in the 600 HP +  and 600s torque.  the saleen extreme was the rarest and most powerful mustang car at the time. i had #36 of 100.  i could outrun pretty much anything in this car. the sound was out of this world. you felt like a bully in a car.. so loud, the 20 inch wheels, the bodykit - the saleen sticker.

then I picked up a 2012 Mustang GT 5.0 6 speed Coyote - same color (dark red coupe) this car was a machine. driven across country on some epic roads

and my last mustang as a stage 2 roush 6 speed convertible. fun factor 10/10 and my opinion the best looking modern mustang EVER - no mustang is as sharp as a roush

I have a Jeep Patriot (which under the Chrysler brand) and I love it

it is a 5 speed manual Jeep Patriot, with crank windows, no power locks, pretty much as simple as a car and never gets old since it so simple/ it is my daily driver and it is detailed, maintained like I would my old Jaguar XKR - always take pride in your possessions no matter what you own.  i have this car as long as i can. similar how to see 10, 15 year toyota trucks on the road.

I love the fact this Jeep is in a 5 speed, simple color, 4 cyl engine. you blend in and have zero hassles/low cost = the point of a daily driver.  i save my car money for fun cars/sports cars. i don't see the point of a semi expensive daily driver.  my 2 cents.... have a true "A to B car" and then have a" baby"  8) :-*

thank you! loved that car  8)

watch these 2 quick 1 minute youtube videos

from .59 onward... the sound was punishing..

^^^ this what they sound like - again... the car sounded like a helicopter at full throttle. it was around 94 decibels loud -

10 second quarter mile club - the mid 2000s saleens were fucking brutal.

for the muscle car folks - Saleen or roush stangs some have 750 HP + but are never in the magazines, news, TV or much pop culture press since they are not factory/nor stock. they are a tuner car.

id take a saleen or roush over a Cobra or GT500 anyday - way more boy racer, rare, unique and simply look better.

You could always tell a Mustang’s sound during the 4.6 days. That guy was banging those gears quick in the 2nd vid. I remember having an X-pipe and cut-outs right before the flowmaster 2 chambers. It was loud as hell when uncapped but the back-pressure sounded like shit. It’s amazing how common fast cars are nowadays compared to the late 90’s-early 2000’s. My last car was a stock ‘15 vette and I was constantly doing 3.9 0-60 and running 11.9 in the 1/4. I really need to get something fast yet practical. I’m thinking about a used M5 with low miles.

Back in the early 1980's a friend of a friend was selling an immaculate 7000 mile 1970 Boss 429 for $7000.
