Being on the juice for a couple years pushed my hairline back. Thankfully, finasteride has totally stopped any additional hairloss. Been on it for 5 years and it's truly remarkable: no change in my hairline, even after some more time on low dose test.
Anyways, I'm at the point in my life where I can afford to spend $10-15k on a hair transplant. Probably looking to get 1000-1500 hairs transplanted, just to restore my youthful hairline. Now, I've talked to a couple places that do it in my area (I live in Chicago) and it seems like $7-8/follicle is the going rate.
Some people say that a hair transplant is a hair transplant, and going to the cheapest bidder is fine. On the other hand, cheaping out on plastic surgery seems like a bad idea.
Any getbiggers get a hair transplant or know anybody that has? Any advice?
-
Yes, definitely go with the cheapest doctor.
-
Goodmorrow,
I have been blessed with great hair. I would love to hear from others not so fortunate.
STAY POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is for Melvin, Vissy and those that are not so fortunate with hair (https://ve.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_pt03vaHcyX1ypnjj3.mp4)

It's always smart to bargain shop for your medical doctors.
Look at the diploma. Docs with degrees from Guadalajara Medical School are usually cheaper.
-
ask ratherbefat (he's Anaboliclalos buddy) about those hairy transplants ;D

Just get a toupee

If you could take back ever using gear in order to save your hair would you have?

Weren’t you the dude who takes rogain? I thought about it, I’m in my late 30’s and noticed just a bit of thinning. Had the doctor look when I went in recently and he said I have a great head of hair, but I know my body and it just doesn’t look quite as good as it did ten years ago. I also started TRT about five years ago so I’m not sure if that’s screwing with it or not. Either way, I’d like to keep my full head of hair.

yes i use rogaine and have been using it since my late 20s. 50% of hair loss occurs before men even realize it.
i tell all my friends and gf's about rogaine - use it while you have a full head of hair. i should get paid by them :) i spread the good word. i never hide any secrets -
i do the following
rogaine 1x per day
saw palmetto
PRP injections at my dermatologist
live a healthy life
my hair is slowly thinning - hell i am getting older (so its father time) but i am doing what i can to maintain it.
good luck brols -dont wait around with hair loss

I've had two hair transplants. Along with taking finasteride, it's made a major difference and I look younger now (at 31) then I did several years ago. I live in the UK and had mine done here but I know many go to Turkey to get it done. It's significantly cheaper and the surgeons there are known to be very good.
Whether or not you choose to get FUE or FUT depends on how you like to style your hair. Both mine were FUE since I tend to like my back and sides shaven. There isn't any visible scarring that can be seen.

31 isn’t very old though, hope your hair stays the same 10 years or more down the road

I am the spitting image of Richard Gere bald and all. Now imagine if I Had hair.
Only bodybuilders that spend their lives measuring food injectong drugs and lifting don't really make a difference if they're bald or not. Look at Aaron Clark for instance.

I'm hoping the finasteride does it's job and prevents any further hair loss for at least a decade. It's worked well so far. I'll probably go for a third hair transplant if necessary but will want to delay that as much as I can.

Be carefull, finasteride can have serious and irreversible side affects.
Besides, why take so many unneccessary risks using roids? Prostate, heart, liver, does not seem worth it to me.

It can cause irreversible impotence even after a few doses. Also gyno.
There was even one guy on a talk show who claimed it made him become transgender!
Wouldn't risk messing with hormones like that just to save hair.

I too am 31, I’m fortunate enough not to need hair transplant but if I did using finasteride would be my absolute last option. I’ve heard too many horror stories with that drug.
I know of 3 people who went to Turkey for the procedure, apparently 1/3 price and they are the forefront of hair transplants.

You’re a sheep. So ignorant, just following the herd. Amazes me that people such as yourself make it past 20.

I didn’t have any noticeable side effects while on finasteride, but something that crashes your DHT, the hormone that essentially makes you a man, can’t be a good thing. But that’s just common sense

Common sense is extremely limited on this forum as well as in the majority or the Worlds population.

Dont waste your time and money on hair transplants. If you do, everyone knows you have a hair transplant. Then they realize you are insecure and women will take advantage of this. Keep your remaining hair short or just shave it. You will not be fooling anyone if you go the other route. As long as you keep your body in shape, your lack of hair will not affect your dating life or what people think of you.

I got hair transplant last year. I had them take a bit of hair from my head and implant it on my taint. Now women frequently remark about how masculine I look.
-
I feel like I can almost always tell a hair transplant. The hairline always looks too perfect and the texture of the hair starts looking ridiculous because it’s transplanted side hair. Like Arnold’s dumb looking hair.

We need to start a gofundme page for a hair transplant for TA, by now he should be bald

How many prp injections have you had?
Chiming in. I’ve had 2 PRP treatments with the first one ton include stem cells. Second treatment I had about 7-8 months later was just PRP by itself. Procedure works, there’s no denying it. Also on Rogaine to keep what grows back. Worth every penny.
-
Cement or stone dust in the hair makes it look significantly thicker as well as working a bit like gel, combine with a dirty scalp and you can look great down the pub after a day at graft

i have had 2
3rd one is 7/24
i plan to continue to get them 3-4x per year.
results speak for themselves

"Anyone ever get hair transplants?"
Yes... Im sure some folks have. ::)

Transplanted hair does look odd.
It has a unusual texture.
Like a hairpiece, everyone sees it and knows what you did.
"Hey, that's a nice hairpiece. It looks real."
"Hey, your hair transplant looks good. It's just like your original hair."
-
I've had 4 hair transplants.
To answer some things said in this thread.
It doesn't look odd. Anyone saying that has just seen some shit ones. It's your hair just moved around, how on earth could it have an unusual texture?
There's only so much you can do each time but if you're going to do it get the most done at once. First time you could easily get 2500 maybe even upwards of 4,000+. My first I did in Australia and it was a payment to have 2500 or close to it as the most they could really do. I had 2634 grafts done. Because they aren't the best surgeons in Australia and left a larger than should be line around my head they couldn't do as much the second time which I had done in Thailand (DHT Clinic Bangkok) however I had 2755 grafts done. 3rd one 1965 grafts and 4th I can't remember I think 1500 or so. Last two also done in Bangkok which I highly recommend, will be much cheaper for you with the strong US dollar and probably better surgeons who do this all the time and have for decades. One time I was there, a woman had close to 5000 grafts done the first time and around 3000 the second.
Just keep in mind while you can feel hairs coming back after 2-3 months it takes 18 months to see the full thickness from a transplant. I'm 15 months after my last one and I noticed the crown where I had it all done was much thicker the other day than even 2 months ago. Also you can't train about 12-14 days after the transplant so schedule the surgery for when you are having a week or two rest.

Because as you advance and bald the head on your top is more susceptible to dht related thinning and loss
While the hair on your side is much more dht resistant, and remains fuller and course.
Proper planning, mapping and a course of finasteride will in most cases completely halt the loss. Rhis is the only way to maintain a natural look. If you take steroids and dont take an androgen inhabitor, eventually your genetics will override and you will have a plug look pr unusuall pattern where the front is filled in and sparse areas all over. Which is why it's not recommended to get a transplant when your loss is minimal like a nw2. A transplant cannot mimic a natural thick hair and it will result in a cobweb like appearance with a thick surroundings. Typically why a lot of people need am additional top up.
With the right surgeon, you can map a natural loss over time with or without medication.
I have had 3 hair transplants. The first one was not enough and my hair looked like shit. After the second or looked natural and full.
It takes a lot of time and money to be invested onto achieving a natural look. If you think one transplant will achieve your result you are in for a joke. It's a long emotional rollercoaster ride and most people who undergo this shit are very insecure. I am not shy to admit, but it takes a certain person to undergo this surgery. Ifs very time consuming and invasive recovery wise. But in the long run I am so glad I had it done.
Hair is more important then muscle the older you get. Women generally dont care about anything more then being relatively fit. Anything more, you're only impressing your boyfriend. Made me realise how pointless steroids were after I spent 4 half year blasting and cruising. Enjoy your natural muscle foundation you.built and hair, it's way better then pinning and living behind a syringe. And yes you have an addiction despite the people who believe they are totally okay.

Even though it's a shit joke, there's my point. That's a wig, you haven't seen a good transplant.

Had a work-mate who came in one day with the taped on toupe (this is going back 25+ years) looked ridiculous.
At the gym my workout partner taped a note to his back "I have hair, and the receipt to prove it".
Whole gym got a kick out of that as they knew him for years as the odd/little bald fellow.
-
why not shave your head ? do you have a weird shaped skull ???
-
When you start losing your hair it is a bit unsettling.
It's like getting that first ding on a new car.
After a few more dings you don't give a crap.
So, after a while you just say "f*ck it".
Shaving your head is so much easier than worrying about your hair. And you save money on haircuts.

Excellent choice for most people. -Been doing this for the last 40 or so years. Easy-peasy.

Not everyone can pull off the bald look
Levrone looks much better and youthful with hair than he does now, bet he wishes he could grow it back like in 2009/2010

If I didnt bald in my twenties I dont think I would care as much. And feel.forced into preserving my youth with countless hair transplants
People who bald gracefully after ther thirties are a lucky bunch
