Billionaire Bernie Marcus recently made headlines by sharing that he plans to give 80% to 90% of his wealth (estimated at $4.53 billion by Bloomberg, or $5.8 billion by Forbes) to charity when he dies. But the former Home Depot HD, +0.69% chairman also revealed in the same Atlanta Journal-Constitution interview that he will be donating to Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign, as well. Indeed, he donated $7 million to help elect Trump in 2016, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

The people who work there are affiliated with both political parties or no party at all. They are of all religions and all colors and backgrounds. Why would people want to hurt them?
All because I give my voice and some of my money to our President. Am I in China? Argentina? Russia? That's what it feels like to me.
It saddens me that our country has come to this, where I, as a private citizen, cannot express my feelings. It angers me and it saddens me, but it sure as hell is not going to stop me. If you thought it would, you've got the wrong guy.
In the next ten years, God willing, I will accomplish more to save this world than my critics will do even if they had forty lifetimes.”

I'm a democrat and knew about the Trump support by Bernie Markus. I still shop at Home Depot.
Unless he supports Neo-Nazi's, I'll patronize his stores if they offer good products at a decent price.
In my OPINION , how he votes is his business and separate from this stores.
FYI, where I live in the N Ga Mts it's a big plus to be pro-Trump.

Home depot is one of the best stocks I bought not too long ago. I bought it for 160 a share and it is 214 today. A good company who also yields 2.5%.

Ok, on a serious note, I sincerely believe people have a right to speak their minds on any political view.
I actually like and respect a lot of Trump voters, especially living in my area.
Problem I see is that not too many act like me and can separate personal politics from other key character issues.
I suspect most who don't agree my politics on this forum, might actually like me , if we ever spoke in person. Maybe not? :(
