Title: Oregon Senators Fined $3,500

At the near end of the Oregon legislative session this June, Republican Senators walked out for seven days in protest over climate legislation. They took refuge out of state to avoid being arrested. Apparently, leaving the Senate during session is illegal. Republican Senator Brian Boquist threatened to shoot and potentially kill any State Trooper who attempted to arrest him.

Each Senator was fined $500 per day. If they refuse to pay they will be taken through the collection process. In retaliation, the Senators said they will seek remedy in state and federal court.

Good for them, standing up against demoncrats trying to bully everyone.
