Title: Eddie Hall after tearing bicep - might go for world record in bench press - lol!
Post by: obsidian on July 24, 2019, 06:31:55 PM
No doubt he is one of the strongest bench pressers in history. If he had dedicated himself to breaking the raw bench press record like the did the deadlift I have no doubt he would have had it by now.

He’s been good for a high sixes, so he might have a shot.

Kirill’s 738 is a VERY daunting mark. And his press with it was far and away one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, I’ve ever seen with anything 650-plus in a meet. Absolute control and a legit pause. Zero compression off his chest.

Freakish.

I know I shouldn’t say, but it’s very possible that record won’t be broken for some time.

Julius Maddox went close to breaking that record recently.

If this is all Eddie had to do, I think he would be able to do it. (Never doubt the guy).
He's so busy w/ film/projects these days, if he keeps busy, I cant see him dedicating the time.

Would be fun to see him try though, and the lead up to it (training vids) would be fun.
He's a heck of a character and does belong in front of a camera (movies), need more bad-asses and less twinks in films.
(Ghey Metro-Sexuals).  ::)

His height saves him from a BMI over 50, but...

He’s not anywhere close to being in Kirill’s league. Huge compression-presser. Factoring this in, he’s even further from a 738. I’d guess he is at least shy 60 or more pounds.

At that upper end of current “best” standard, it’s not close.

Never say never with Eddie although it is more of a marketing statement probably. Eddie The Beast in prime:

Those squats with around eight are absolutely insane. As are all the feats shown.

Still, even at his greatest flat pressing, he’s a long way from Kirill’s best performances. Of course, Kirill, while a world-class squatter and deadlifter in his own right, isn’t near Eddie in these two lifts.

On the bench press, Kirill is just existing in another dimension.
