In celebration of my daughter's birthday today and the release of Taschen's THE STAN LEE STORY (written by Roy Thomas) this month, I'm releasing this blog to celebrate my memories with Stan Lee and the unforgettable memories we create in life. A little inspiration for your day (before you getbiggers hit the gym) that I hope you'll enjoy.

Billy Boy was just trying to leech off the Stan Lee attention wagon.

Got a tad sentimental reading your blog. Huge comic book fan ( specifically Marvel comics ) since the 70's.
Thanks for sharing.

Got a few things signed with the nephew, years back. Sold the lad on the trip as I hipped Stan might die at any minute, being the age he was. I don't think he gave a shit. Maybe in a few years it will sink in. Stan was super active and vocal, with lots of help from an assembly line of handlers. The wig was on point. I kept thinking that all that cash that I saw being collected was in no way being accounted for. Not a chance. Fists-full.

I've posted where I met Stan before... very good guy. And he really does love his comics and creations. You would think at some point this dude would get tired of talking about the same thing over and over but he never did. He wasn't afraid to shit on some of the characters and story lines in both his world (Marvel) and in the competitions (DC). If you had any opinion in common with him, he could talk about it for hours. When they called him for his table (we were sitting at the bar talking while waiting for our names to be called), we were talking about villains and he was surprised that the two I named as the most interesting to me were also the two that he thought were so overpowered he couldn't created heroes to fight them.

Yup. Nice post.
Stan was his work. Lived it and breathed it.
The stories Roy tells me are hilarious (saving them for my book).
The man is a legend. And maybe one of the greatest that have ever lived.

There will be a celebration of his life aired on Friday night.

Stan was The Man. I am glad he passed before he got to see Disney further destroy his life's work with PC woke BS.
