The Republicans indeed lost the House but it was by a lot of razor thin margins and victories by moderate Democrats campaigning as "Republican light". These same Democrats who find themselves distancing themselves from "The Squad" on a daily basis for fear of being voted out in 2020.
HOWEVER, Trump picked up 2 seats in the Senate(in a mid term election) and ultimately that is what matters when it comes to seating these justices.
Long term the Senate electoral map favors the Republicans...they just need to field solid candidates. They do that and they win AND control the judicial landscape for the next couple decades.

Therefore, it should go without saying that anyone who enters the country this way is a illegal immigrant. This is why it seems redundant to me to mention them being illegal immigrants. What else would they be? Fish?
