Post by: G_Thang on August 07, 2019, 03:03:27 AM
Someone told me to watch the Orville for laughs.  It only took 3 episodes to go Fluid  ::).  I'm not sure I'm interested anymore

The show is awful.

The libcuck, Seth McFarlane, has had one good show.

That one show was Family Guy... and it is well past its prime.

American Dad sucks and The Orville sucks worse.

Remember when he hosted the Oscars?

He had some skit about boobs and that was it. He was done.

Another failed darling of the left.

I love it when they eat their own.

S1E2 is really funny.

I tried to watch a bit of S1E4 but couldn't get past the 1st 15 mins.

They have basically turned the Klingons into a planet full of women-hating gay men, who want comfort food instead of an intergalactic battle.

I'll just wait for Amazon's Picard

Thanks for the heads up but yeah... I barely made it past episode 2 Girl Power. Episode 3, A Vagina Is Serious Business, left me wondering if whoever footed the production budget for this humourless trek through Whogivesafuck Quadrant wanted his (or her, etc) goddamn money back.

It's very hit and miss. There are some very good episodes mixed in with some painful ones.

Season 2 episode 6 "A Happy Refrain" was very funny and one of my favourites.

Also Season 2 episode 8 and 9 "Identity" are very good. More serious in tone, very next gen/ds9 and some great sci fi space battles.

I watched a couple of episodes, and again, the story arc turns into g a y love saves the day and stops warlords destroying civilianizations  It's really getting sickening.

Love the show although it needs to be cut to 1/2 hour.  The last half always drags and then the final couple minutes rush to sew up all the loose ends.  This will be it's last season if it's ratings don't improve but probably won't unless they put it at a less competitive time slot.

The next season is already in production and will be on hulu.

It is indeed very ghey, but not without its charm. It's not a show that I could binge watch, but in small doses it's fine.

It would be nice if they would decide if it's gonna be a sitcom or a genuine sci fi show, and stick to as the back and forth is a little jarring.

I love Family Guy (aside from Brian, mainly because it's just Seth MacFarlane using his own voice) and I enjoy American Dad but I can't stand MacFarlane as himself. I just don't find him amusing, more punchable. Love sci-fi, love comedy but The Orville does not appeal.

This is what I want to see.  This was a fantastic episode with Teleya, a bit of space battle, some comedy and a great hetero ending (classic Billy Joel) between a human and an alien woman.  Standard scifi arc but brilliantly done, none of the homo nonsense. LGBT need to get their own networks.
