Opposed NAFTA. Opposes jobs being exported to China. Against corporate influence in politics. Disagrees with bailing out Wall St while the working man struggles. Thinks higher education should be publicly funded just like high school.
On the other hand, doesn't seem to prioritize border security and is on the cusp of taking your gun.
Could he win or will he stroke out before election day?
-
Sounded good up to the border and gun stuff.
I hope he loses.
But Democrats import third world voters now.
It may be a mono-party from here on out.

College costs would have to be dramatically lowered in order to be acceptable to taxpayers as "free". The books could be downloadable pdfs and one teacher could instruct one course to 1000s via video. They should give college credit for subjects mastered on Khan academy and the like. As long as people could be tested at testing centers where they can't cheat, or some other reliable way. Right now you can listen to entire Yale course lectures and other university classes online, read the books, and retain as much as those that paid. You just aren't given credit.
Free college, with college costing tens of thousands, is doing the same stupid thing but making everyone pay for it. The internet should have been a cost game-changer. For most subjects, no need for brick and mortar, air conditioning, in-person nstructors, commutes, etc...Besides, the average IQ level of college students has dropped over the years. It used to be that only smart people went to college. Many today have no business being there. It's extended high school except you get more intensely indoctrinated and in debt.
College could be much more widely accepted as tax funder funded if they adopted the Netflix vision nstead of clinging on to the Blockbuster model.
That said, no one needs a homicidal Bolshevik wolf in sheep's clothing as president, anyway.

This is probably the dumbest part. Banks, for the most part, are a 'necessary evil' of sorts. Sitting by idly and allowing the bank(s) to collapse would have far, far worse flow-on impact to society (for everyone, not just bankers). There are better approaches than a blanket "no bail-outs" rule.

Bernie was shafted by the DNC in 2016 and will most likely lose out again. I've always enjoyed listening to him.
If he went down a more conservative route on social issues and immigration, he'd be a major force.

What America really needs is a strong political party that takes the third position; economic nationalism mixed with cultural conservatism.

Bernie bitchin about corporate tax and 15hr min wage
-
Bernie never worked a day in his life, so his opinion means nada...
-
I liked when bernie tried to intimidate rogan by getting loud referring to zero corp tax laws 'well they make the laws joe '.....the whole time bernie speaking out his ass not making eye contact and admitting 'yeah i smoked pot a couple times it didnt do anything'. ::)

This is Bernie's last rodeo.
No chance for Bernie. He's like your eccentric uncle who you humor out of courtesy.

Getting "loud" is a tactic used by these cretins. It attracts attention and that's exactly what they feed on. Fuck That Noise. People then cave in because they can't stand squealing Animal Farm Pigs. These cretins demand equality but only from those whose money and power they desire. They don't want to be equal to dirty bums on the street.
They don't want to earn it they want to "Bern" it, i.e., steal if in the name of "fairness". FTN.
Bernie is a facist fuckwad cuck, but then his party is filled with his kind. Hopefully the party is over for good.

Great interview. Bernie right on the money on nearly every issue. Maybe the only politician who gives a shit about working people, instead of caving to corporate billionaires to get their campaign money.

Great post Meg
Thanks, Hulkotron.
For anyone interested there are a few free college lecture links below that link to 1000s of lectures and even courses with tests and readings. Just search free online college lectures. Be aware that many push a bias unless it's math, etc... In subjects like history, it's just as good to read a book. Kindle unlimited, $10 a month, Libraries can upload many books to your Kindle for free, you can press text-to-speech on a Kindle and it will read the book back to you. I listen/read(mainly listen) to a book a day while doing other things.
Also, install a text-to-speech reader to read back any text article online so you can do other things while listening to info. Plus, there's code that you can
type in to play YT and other videos up to 4x with pitch corrected audio and faster than 4X without sound.

What good is education without a piece of paper certifying you had it?

It depends on the job. Entrepreneurs(3 out of 10 billionaires did not have at least a bachelors) don't need paper certs. Authors, programmers, directors, editors, artists, most web jobs don't.....

Bill Gates could have made something of himself but he quit Harvard.

Free tax payer funded college is the dumbest idea. A good portion of college students never finish. At least now thats on them. When its 'free' people will be going just to party. Poor folk already have plenty of options to go to college.
If everyone has a bachelors degree then it means nothing. A bachelors will now be the equivelent to a high school diploma, so what does it solve?

"On the money" is a great way to put it. Where is the money coming for all those ideas anyway?
You think President Bernie makes Amazon and other corps pay even low double digit taxes? I assure you it would never happen. Never. Ever. Ever.

Exactly.
And then more people will have to study a Masters degree.

As said, excellent post. With recent developments in technology, most of the educational infrastructure is no longer needed but those calling for free education don’t want to see their precious liberal arts professors put out of work. When, in reality, they are needed as much as a newsstand is on every corner. The reason the Internet wasn’t a cost game changer for college is because that industry is so heavily intervened by the government. Same deal with healthcare. Bernie is calling for even more intervention to solve the problem.
-
Exactly.

There used to be print ads in matchbooks back in the sixties and earlier. They said something along the lines of "Change your life! Get your high school diploma in your spare time!"
I think it was Marco Rubio who said, "A welder makes more than a philosopher". He's right and a welder is far more important in the overall economy than a stupid poseur who spouts "wax on...wax off". Or an actor/actress.

I have a Bachelors in Sociology with a minor in Gender Studies.
