Maybe I was already feeling crummy and didn’t not realize it, but I had a pretty intense leg workout yesterday (actually over did it and am paying for it with back pain now) and now feel run down and a little bit sick. No puking or anything, just a feeling of “blah”. Like I said, maybe I was already coming down with something, but is there any correlation between immune system and suppressing it by working out too hard?

I don’t work out very hard so I wouldn’t know

I was told by a reliable source that you train like a pussy. So I doubt this is the case here. Have you slept with any unclean men or women recently?

240, you know this is not the case. Does your mom count my Hebrew friend? ;D

My immune system without a doubt gets compromised with too much cardio. I use to be a runner instead of just supplementing my lifting as I do now. Every time I would get up to 7 miles fast runs I would come down with a cold or fever. I think the body can get so run down between exercise, work and lack of sleep your immune system goes to hell. I don't notice it with hard lifting though. Then again maybe you are training with volume and it's working the same as endurance exercise.

It's true if natty IMO. If I lift I'm fine. If I do cardio I'm fine.
Both lift and cardio - at a high level of intensity of course....only a matter of time to get a bubonic level cold.

There is a tech in my ER that every single time he has a hard quad workout, he gets a cold sore within two days. He says the day after the session, there is not much feeling in his legs, like they are numb... but there is the little "tingle" on his lip. Second day, his legs are hurting bad from DOMS and the "tingle" on his lip is now a little red bump that becomes a cold sore.
No other body part that he trains hard triggers this.

Cold sore? Or canker sore? If it's a canker, I would recommend supplementing with Lysine. I've been using it over a year now and haven't had a cold sore since.

I've heard a lot of excuses for not doing legs but a breakout of the herp is a new one, haha.

Don't use public transport & avoid crowded gyms ;)

Strenuous exercise lowers ur immune system for a certain amount of time

Herpes on the lips can be activated from it's dormant state from sun, exhaustion and stress. Never heard a canker sore called a cold sore. It's generally reserved for a herpes sore and that's very different.

I’m usually good about that, and always wipe shit down after use. I’m paranoid about that type of shit after I had a staph infection in my spine that required a PICC line to remove. But you’re probably right, because I’m feeling better today. It’s been a while since I’ve lifted legs, and the last three weeks I went pretty hard followed by 15 minutes of cardio on the treadmill to hopefully help lactic acid. Fuck leg training.

I know the difference. Lysine has seemingly prevented canker sores in my experience. Multiple dental hygienists recommended it so I took their advice and voila! No more cankers.

I've not had this experience. This is likely because I am a sensible person who is unlikely to over do it. Moderation is key.

I would assume a cold sore. I don't know first hand as it isn't me, but that is what he said. I know that he says he keeps a tube of Abreva and some tabs of Z-max on hand in his locker for it.
