With the announcement by The Rock on his Instagram page about the Athletic "show" slated for October 2020 in Atlanta, I wondered has this show gotten much discussion? Is it part of or not part of NPC/IFBB (Jim Manion's) or is it independent? Web link - https://athleticon.com Will this show include bodybuilding or not? The website lists "athletics", "wellness" and "entertainment" as options of interest?
Anyone with any insight?

I've always found the rock annoying since his repetitive signature phrases in the WWF. Same thing over and over and do it to death seems to have worked well for him. Looks like his ex wife Dani Garcia is running as much PEDS as the rock these days, she is huge and half bald now.

Leave that to others to decide whether that is a good thing! At least her family is rich and it appears she doesn't want into the limelight unlike so many other children of famous folk. Side point, always annoys me when kids of famous parents start getting into films, etc and they make out that it has nothing at all to do with who they are related to. Phil Collins daughter said it made it harder to get into stuff because of who her dad is. Yeah right, pull the other one it has bells on!!

It's interesting to see that WME (Wm Morris Endeavor) is involved.
WME is the huge entertainment conglormoration that recently purchased the UFC for 4.5 BILLION US DOLLARS.
Don't be surprisrd if you see an NPC buyout in the near future.
This WME involvement could possibly turn out to be extremely beneficial fior the NPC/IFBB contenders as an entry into the motion picture business.
There's a damn big selection of future Super-Heros that those agents will be seeing for their very first time.

Not sure if it is bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman, endurance events etc or a combination of it in a specialized series of events
Nonetheless if there are upcoming videos, I will keep the board posted

And since the terms "CLASSIC" and "THE VERY BEST" are mentioned ... I gotta assume that one or more pro classic events will be held in conjunction with a pro bodybuilding event.
I find it a bit strange that those details are not mentioned this early/late in the game.
And I find it to be of major interest that the William Morris Endeavor Agency (WME) was once mentioned as a major sponsor.
WME is one of the largest, world-wide agencies who represent major personalities within the motion picture industry and sports world ... as well as other forms of entertainment throughout the galaxy!
And it is also interesting to know that the WME conglomerate recently purchased the UFC for 4.5 BILLION US DOLLARS from the Las Vegas, Station Casino owners (two brothers whose last name I always forget to spell correctly).
And more recently the WME agency purchased "On LOCATION" which is somehow involved with sports-casting for a reported figure of $600,000,000. (That purchase price could be inaccurate though).
So it's safe to say that the WME agency is getting deeply involved within businesses related to the sports activity universe
So Dwayne and Dany are both in bed with some big time financial figures as well as the IFBB Pro League.
But it's going be interesting to see what effect this ICON 'Classic' event will have with regards to the present day Olympia Contest as well as the "Arnold".
Will Dwayne and Dany's prize money be limited so that it does not exceed the Oly nor the "A".
Will the ICON be restricted in some capacity so that itv does not 'over-class' the 'Oly' nor the 'A'?
Will the Pro League BB pros or the Classic pros only enter one contest and simply ignore the others?
Or will they go full steam ahead and enter all three ... Then Icon, the Arnold, and the Oly?
And last but not least .... How the hell will the NPC contenders fit into the picture? Are they even bing considered as possible ICON contenders?
There's big money there ... but will they have some amateur event to earn a pro card for the next year's ICON?
And does it confuse you ... or does it not ... that the term "Classic" in the contest title ... refers to a bodybuilding event which may not even include a contest for classic competitors!?

OLDTIMER, I personally think that this will be similar to the Arnold and the Oly but with one major advantage ...
That major advantage is the event's association with the William Morris Endeavor Agency ... providing that they continue to be associated with this event .... and ... most of all... if it brings to some WME agent's attention the female participants who 'out-glamor' 98% of the female actresses who appear in major motion pictures today due to WME assistance ... As well as the male contenders who are better built with possibly more audience appeal than today's so-called super-hero-actors (OR NOT).
The WME agency could make one or more or many of these contenders major contenders within the world of major motion pictures.
And only those within the motion picture business know how impossible it is to garner the attention of a major Hollywood agency!
That association should prove to be interesting.

Yes, NPC USA is for the United States. NPC Worldwide are for amateur events outside the US, as the NPC and IFBB Pro League expands worldwide. This year, expect to have more events than ever. Looks like the Athleticon will be an event for NPC competitors outside the US to turn pro? Not exactly sure of all the detail yet. Just like the Olympia has in Vegas.
From what I hear, they want the Athleticon to be like the 'Comic Con San Diego' event for fitness, wellness, bodybuilding, etc

Is anyone, anywhere, ever going to undertake a frank and publicly open discussion of steroid use, doses, protocols, risks, and potential for legalization and associated pharmaceutical purity?
Someone should find the balls to do it. Otherwise hold these events in Disneyland where everyone can play make believe. Rock's entire career is predicated on steroid use, and plenty of other guys too. Clearly. Which is fine but go on record for what you believe.
If you're an adult and not a retard then you should be the one who decides what you take and what you don't, but my opinion isn't worth shit. A large group of famous people unanimously making that statement would start a worthwhile national discussion. If you want to do something at your event that sets you apart, do that.

As mentioned earlier .... I 'think' that this event will be somewhat "dramatic" and "unique"due to the participation of the WME agency (William Morris Endeavor) unless something "unusual" or "unique" occurs and fooks it up.
Most, if not all, of you GetBiggers realize how difficult it is to get Hollywood's attention if you want to be a STAR .... and now it appears that all you'll have to do .... is get in shape, don a 'speedo' or a 'glitter suit', smile for the WME agents, and sign a multi-million dollar contract.
Sure! It ain't as easy as that ... but it's a hell of a lot easier than getting ff the bus in Tinsel-Town and giving it a go on your lonesome!
And I can guarantee that more than a couple of stunt-men and stunt-gals realize that this could be a rare and golden opportunity to strut-their stuff and be recognized with the hopes of filling the shoes and sneakers of forthcoming Superhero roles.
This WME participation is of main importance in this ICON event!
