Looks like the blade may come in razor sharp!
-
No pic??? What a letdown.
J
-
There will be plenty of pix. His faze looked to me like skeleton cheeks to the bone at press conference.
-
he does look very drawn in the face
Curry looks puffy!
-
Dex knows how to carb up to perfection too. Hadi looking very impressive in Tshirt.
Rolley looks like he came in lean, but I think its probably too late for the gut even if lean.
-
Does Dexter have a tumor?

Dex sporting a nose sponsored by Elli Lilly

Dex looking to be diced, looks like he took the conditioning a step up to retire on top. Curry looks like he is 6 weeks out by looking at his face, and Cedric looks like he was given a special invite 3 days ago. Kuclo looks bloated too. Could just be face bloat lets see if the guts are all in check, and the definition is good. Hoping this is a great Mr./Ms. O pageant.
In women's physique do the competitors just wear board shorts with no top? If so I could def get into it.
-
Just look at the photos in his most recent Instagram post. Unbelievable how sunken in his cheeks are. Surprisingly he actually looks a lot younger. It would be incredible to see him win!

Dexter won't win shit, i bet he won't even place in the top 3. He's just too old for this shit.
-
Bonac will wreck all those guys

Be careful, dexter is coach’s guy, he’s going to come on here defending him like he’s his first born
-
if he looks on point, I would love to see Dex with the Olympia again
-
Nonsense
Nope it's true. Fat distribution changes as we age.

Guess we’re all anxciously waiting for the moment when nothing but a skimpy thong is covering his physique. It’s going to be a long night

Do you know what the dolphin said to the fisherman when he got caught in a net and pulled into the boat????
Wait for it——-
“Put me baaaaaack” (dolphin squeak) - “I’m not a tuna” (Arnold accent)
-
Q: What did the fish say when he hit the wall???
A: DAMN!
-
The Olympia stage is unrecognizable to me at this point. Short of Dexter, the other guys just aren't memorable.
Dexter has a good chance to take it. Knowing how politics do play a part in selecting the winner, I wouldn't be surprised.

lean face

The face does change and lose fat and bone as we age. Resistance weight training has been proven to preserve bone in the face. Another reason to body build. It’s anti ageing.

With that said, I’d be perfectly okay with Dexter winning.

it was interesting to hear dexter say at the conference that he beat better guys than all the guys he's competing with today and he named them too he said ronnie, flex, and Mr. Levrone
it was just a few months ago he said that flex wouldn't be a top guy today, so what does he really think?
he didn't beat any of the 90's guys until they hit the wall

He has an old school look going when guys in contest shape looked small in clothes.
-
I can't believe Jackson is still in the game.
His overall health must be horrible.
Dude has probably been juicin' for over forty years along with taking Lord knows what else.
Nuts.
-
I think Dex looked the best from the front, and Curry looked the best from the back. Everyone else looks 6 weeks out, or is too small and has too many flaws. What ya'll think?

-
He wasn’t included in the top 4 call out. Likely he will not win.
Unless he makes up for it tonight.
-
Based on callouts, it's looking like he will be 5th or 6th.
-
Boniac takes it
-
Sucks i was just going by the pics. Who do you guys think will take it?
-
Maybe even out of the top 5
Time to retire and ride off into sunset

6th place wouldn't be so bad. But if he's going to continue to decline...it may be best to hang up the posing trunks.
Dexter sat out the 2005 Mr. Olympia contest [I'm not sure why]. If not for that, he has competed straight up from 1999 to today! :o
Dexter is the Gordie Howe of bodybuilding.
-
I guess we all now know why gas prices are so high - 1/2 of OPEC’s production is in Hadi’s shoulders. Ridiculous.

He placed 7th last year, 6th would be an improvement, but dexter is one of the best of all time, not top 5 or winning it for him would be a disappointment

Think about it for a min : placing 7th with Rami, Rhoden and Heath in the line up ……… placing 6th with none of them there is painful as hell .
WoooSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

^ Good posts.
Dexter probably needs the money though. Before the 2008 Arnold Classic, he said he had no money, and was looking forward to winning, to get paid, lol.
I doubt he has any money saved, or assets.
So for financial reasons, I suspect Dex will continue.

Damn, how many rims and Jordan’s does a middle aged black man need?

Not just yet. He placed 4th.

Dexter Jackson, age 50, at his 20th Olympia contest.
20 years! And still in incredible shape!
No question, Dexter is one of the all time greats in longevity in the sport.
4th place!

I don't know why for the life of me so many just assume, with zero first hand information, that top professional bbers are broke. It's been said about Ronnie, Jay, Phil.
There is no way on heaven and earth you can be poor and be able to compete on the Olympia stage. Dexter, a Mr. O winner and one of the greatest bbers in the world has many avenues to make money.
Why do people here always assume the worse with modern day bbers. Does it ever occur to you that maybe Dexter continues to bodybuild and compete because that is what they love to do? Think of how many people devote a huge chunk of their lives going to the gym every day and do it for free.
-
The face does change and lose fat and bone as we age. Resistance weight training has been proven to preserve bone in the face. Another reason to body build. It’s anti ageing.
How could that be possible? By lifting with your face? ???
-
4th place
Like i said, he’s too old for this
Prepping is easy and second nature to him now. It's not like he's got another career. Plus he's still making money. 45,000 for doing something he loves.
Plus the longer he goes and still places in the top spots, the better name he will make for himself and go down as the all time greatest bodybuilder.
He's securing his place in bodybuilding history.
-
Plus, he still looked better than Bonac. Dexter was a solid 3rd. Fucked out of a better paycheck.
-
4th place
Like i said, he’s too old for this
In the top five in the Olympia and he's too old to be competitive. Has Lee Priest ever been in the top five? How about Munzer? Milos? Matarazzo?... a lot of great bbers wish they could have cracked the top five in the O.

In dexters mind if he ain’t winning it it’s a lost
He straight up said this earlier this year. He’s used to winning, anything less is a failure, whether top 5, or not

Of course a champion at his level would have high expectations. Remember what Kulco said? Just getting in on the first call out is a victory for him. For many just qualifying to get on the Olympia stage is a life dream.
It all depends where you're at.

You also have to keep in mind dexter placed 7th last year, with Ramy, Phil and Rhoden competing. None of them were there this year
Also after prejudging dexter was out of the top 5 before filling out for Saturday’s show (that’s the veteran in him since he’s done it for over a decade now)
This was a weak line up, we shall see next year if all of the return or not
As for Kuclo he’s NEVER been top 5 or 6 ever at the O, dexter on the other hand has won in 2008, many runner ups, top 5, tons of Arnold Classic wins, the most pro wins of any bber in history, his mindset is def on another level
-
It was said that Dexter was 215 at this show. He could come back next year and have a good shot at winning the 212 class. Another feather in his cap.
On an unrelated note, Ramy will be competing in the Arnold Classic in march.

why do that when he can earn almost as much placing 4th in the open?

Even with those guys there Dexter would have been in the top 5. Ramy always comes in soft, Roelly is hit and miss and this was a miss, Hadi was given a gift of hype. Bonac is always on target
-

If Phil, and Rhoden competed (without ramy btw) dexter would be 6th at best
Phil
Rhoden
Curry
Bonac
Hadi
Dexter
We shall see next year

You seemed to have missed my point. The reason I mentioned Kulco is that "winning" is defined by the individual based on previous accomplishments putting into perspective Dexter's supposed comments you claim he made about not winning the O is being a loser in his opinion. But I just came across a link today which states otherwise. He said that he is very happy with his placing and at his age to still be in the top five in the world is amazing.
This seems to have given him even more motivation to continue. Age 50 is landmark age and still being able to place at the O at that age will just continue to cement his legacy which I doubt anybody ever will be able to match. Imagine that. Doing something that nobody in the history of the world has or will be able to do again in the foreseeable future.
I'll let the nobody's that never accomplished anything of note to continue to be a wet blanket to this exceptional individual and discourage him and try to bring him down while Dexter has proven that he isn't going to let the nothings influence him in the slightest and just keep going strong.
-
If Phil, and Rhoden competed (without ramy btw) dexter would be 6th at best
Phil
Rhoden
Curry
Bonac
Hadi
Dexter

I think Phil has lost a lot of momentum. If he does fix the gut he'll never win again. If he does then he'll probably win again. Even if it's blisteringly close, they will reward him for the improvement and it will inject some excitement into the sport.
-
IMO and just to get that #30, my personal opinion is that I hope he hits one or two more shows this year just to solidify that record.
-

so Roelly outweighed him by 82 lbs.???
doesn't seem likely.
no point speculating or believing anyones weight
unless they bring back official weighins.

He definitely has a chance in winning all the smaller shows and maybe even the Arnold classics.
The O he’s certainly still competitive but like I said, we shall see when there’s a full line up again with ramy, flex Lewis competing
-
What is it that you have accomplished in your life? What a way to jump to conclusions about a discussion about what dexter has said in the past and earlier this year ::)
Your posts are always caught up on “what have you done in your life” but in reality, what have you done?
I've nothing exceptional in life. I'm just an average Joe who will leave no legacy and soon forgotten after I am dead. That's why I don't criticize and I admire someone who has done something extraordinary in life.
-

Even with the gut from last year he still beat everyone and even rhoden in most poses
He barely loss but if he comes back, only time will tell

None of those guys have ever been top 5. The closest was Priest who placed sixth, twice.
-

Absolutely disagree, and fortunately so did the judges. The abs are the centerpiece in the front poses. It is the neglect in this area that is the biggest complaint regarding modern bbing. They are now cracking down on the bubble gut and it is now given special scrutiny. Notice how Shawn Ray constantly commented on the guts both good and bad. Unless Phil makes this change he will not win again. They can't grant him a victory for a physique that has already lost.
-

That was my point. So many greats have never cracked the top five at the O so Dexter is still on a row and going strong and should still keep at it.

I wish this were true. They gave Bonac 2nd place. His bubble gut is horrendous. Heath-eque minus the muscle.
