I always said and stated that one gun for self defense is not a bad thing.
Its a huge difference between owning one Gun inside the House or in your car for a Gun 'Freak"
The example above does not reflect the Gun issue/abuse in this country, that is the main culprit for ALL the mass shooting in America.
Its easy to pin point a case like this and avoid a debate on the issue when everybody knows pretty soon another carnage will happen.
We just dont know when and where, but we know it will happen...

99% do the people in here, myself included, 'support' and root" for a sport that will never be in primetime, because 99% of the guys onstage are or were involved with serious drugs abuse/gay for pay to support their habits, rages that resulted in death and sorts of shenanigans.
We even applaud those cats.
But, when it comes to killings in real life related to Guns, we cut some slack because its 'cool' to be a Gun collector and a' harmless' hobby...

You said this, not me. I simply stated a personal fact. It is also a fact that my parents never owned a gun and never needed one. Good thing too, because if there had been a gun in the house, my mom probably would have shot my dad during one of her drunken fits of rage. Instead, she stabbed him with two steak knives, one in each of his biceps, which fortunately wasn't lethal.

It's not the guns it's a society issue. Same guns were here 40 years ago and mass shootings were just about unheard of.
According to FBI stats more people in America are killed with knives and empty hand assault than Assault rifles. The FBI doesn't even have a separate category for so called assault rifles. They just lump them all together with every type of rifle. Handguns kill more that rifles and shotguns combined.
In my town the high school many years ago had a rifle club where students drove in with their rifles. Not one shooting. People went to church back then. Mothers stayed home to raise their kids. Now with a different society where kids are institutionalized at a young age (day care) without any moral compasses some are out of control.
Don't forget all the anti Assault weapons fans that in the Virginia Tech shooting where 49 were shot and the Fort Hood shooting where 43 people were shot was done with handguns.

Great post Kwon!!! I actually wish my wife would put on 10-12 and she would look a lot like this. She (wifey) has “those hips” - that if you are a hip / ass guy you know what I mean. She is also a unicorn in that she has honka tatties too!!
Trust me - I don’t get why she’s with me any more than people who see us. It ain’t money cause I had just lost everything but my soul in a divorce / business death when we met. She’s cool as hell too - cooks and is meticulous about our house like I am ( I pull my weight). I actually show her a lot of your (Kwon) pic posts.

Actually I have no problem with anyone not wanting to own a gun. I just have a problem with those that have a problem with me owning one.

Honestly, no one in their right mind would break into our house. There's two reasons for this. One is that our three dogs bark like crazy at anyone walking by the house on the public sidewalk. If someone comes into the yard or to the door they go nuts. They sound like a wolf pack. The second reason is that we have nothing material worth more than a human life. Let them take what they want. It's all insured.
Come to think of it, there is one more reason. The West Linn police have so little to do, they'd be here before much could happen. One time they followed me into my driveway simply to let me know one of my taillights was out. You never see a panhandler or a vagrant in this town. The police are on them within minutes of their arrival.

You missed the broader point. As chaos said, you live in a very safe Lilly White neighborhood and feel safe. Good for you. You play the odds and don't feel you need to protect yourself or your family. Some, actually many, aren't so lucky. You don't have to have bars of gold and piles of diamonds to get your house broken into and robbed. Poor neighborhoods have a much higher level of crimes of all types.
So take a big yawn, pat yourself on the back, boast about how you never have had to defend yourself, others, and your property. Just keep in mind things can go south very quickly. You're old so most of your life is behind you. Some are in very different circumstances and choose not to be so complacent.

I ask her all the time!! She is too disciplined eating and training / yoga whatever else. She uses the Peloton thing - which I can admit I have never sat on. I much rather the treadmill.
But while she is not at all sassy - she knows she’s hot. She ain’t blind. So she blows off my requests ☹️

I do believe that’s true. I have no other explanation ;D. I heard another speaker one night say that he would rather be lucky than good any day. I totally agree but added that I think we all have the ability to create the best environment for luck in our lives.
Make no mistake - my life has been FAR from perfect all the time. I’ve zigged when I should’ve zagged more times than I can count and I have experienced the guy wrenching pain of losing a ton as well. My story is no where remotely as inspiring as someone like Wes - but everyone has struggles.
