Politics aside, why would any sitting US President harass a testifying witness via tweet in real time?

He's done this many times

Apparently Republicans are just fine with witness tampering and witness intimidation

Just add it to the long list of crimes that Republicans don't seem to object to any more

It went horribly as predicted. The new keyword was bribery. They asked her if she ever witnessed any bribery or anything that be could be considered illegal and she said no.

Essentially, the most egregious  act committed by the President was to hurt her feelings.

This sham becomes a bigger joke by the day.

Idiot, when the House impreaches Trump, the Senate trail is unavoidable according to the GOP. The Senate sits as a High Court of Impeachment in which senators consider evidence, hear witnesses, and vote to acquit or convict the impeached official. Marie Yovanovitch will be called to testify by the prosecution. Her time as a witness is not over yet. She could also be recalled by the House....Over you head.

This would really get interesting in the Senate where the Republicans control the flow of traffic.

Dumbass, I meant during the hearing. Schiff purposely exploited it for theatrics for his clown show. Fuckers can’t come up with one impeachable offense so let’s play on the public’s sympathy. But at the end of the day no one gave a shit (DOW going above 28k is a pretty good indicator).

After watching her testimony, I don’t believe she’s even a witness. She didn’t witness anything. I have no idea why they even called her up there.

I believe what the committee chair is trying to do is build a complete picture of everything that went on during that time period related to the issue. Despite how the media presents it, not every witness is going to present some earth shattering and incriminating revelation.

The question is (I think), why did Trump fire her? Was it because she wasn't producing what Trump wanted, which was dirt on Biden and his son and having Volodymyr Zelensky go public with it? Did it have anything to do with pushing her aside and bringing in his own people, such as Giuliani and Sondland?

There may or may not be some ah ha moment in committee's arsenal. But if enough witnesses say the same thing even if it is hearsay, it makes Trump look pretty bad. Here's another thought, since Trump has difficulty controlling what he says and tweets they could be baiting him. In which case, it is working.

Lastly, this is not a trial, it is an inquiry meant to deteremine if the house wants to impeach Trump. The trial comes after that's happened and it goes to the Senate. There is probably a long road ahead before anything is decided....just my guess.

Mmmm..pretty sure if it goes to Trial it becomes legal and political. That being said his tweet would probably be inadmissible along with the rest of the witnesses testimony due to hearsay. Jordan should have immediately backhanded Schiff on National TV. He would have been a hero

For witness tampering to have actually occurred, Yoyanovitch would have had to have been a direct witness to the crime.

Once again, being butthurt is not grounds for impeachment

It would be inadmissible and a matter of interpretation. The sissy left will exploit it and say it was a threat or bullying. The rest of the normal thinking world would know it’s just his opinion which he has a right too.

Caught some of the hearing today. Vinan was testifying. The democrat congressmen spends his time kissing thanking him for his service yada yada yada. Then Radcliffe gets his turn and points out that no one in any of the witnesses transcripts mentions anything about bribery which is the charge of the day.

You almost feel bad for these witnesses. They’re obviously just establishment pawns.

This is why I don’t think it will go to the Senate. The Democrats are in too weak of a position to give up the ball. Shifty is going to be called in to testify after claiming that he didn’t know or have any contact with the whistle blower. And can you imagine Biden’s idiot crackhead son having to testify, not to mention Biden himself, the guy who is actually guilty of the charges being hurled at Trump.

If you thought the Democrats were ever in control of the Ukraine quid pro quo then you were confused.

President Trump and Rudy Giuliani laid out the bait and the rats fell over themselves eating it.

Now they Democrats have lied to the country and went down the foreign collusion hole twice with Trump crushing them both times.

And as an added bonus, the Ukraine has picked up the investigation into the Burisma corruption again.

Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, and Jerrold Nadler will be remembered as three of the most incompetent politicians of all time

Truth is Trump didn't know what quid pro quo meant until a week or so ago when everyone was saying it. Even now that he had someone look it up for him, he's unsure what it means exactly.

FYI, it happened DURING her testimony ...DOAH!

Yes, and someone giving testimony in court would not see it, as they would not have a phone, or access to media.

Unless of course, the dipshit chairman brought it up.

It all worked out in the end. Today was a disaster for Schiff.

In the pre-Internet era , the main stream media could’ve gotten away with controlling the information, reporting only what happened in the morning and nobody would’ve heard about what happened when the Republicans questioned Sondland. Then, the next day they would’ve just moved on to something else.

This is so dishonest.  "It" was Schiff reading a tweet that the witness otherwise would not have known anything about.  What a dumb argument.

The there's the fact that your hero could have restrained himself....or maybe not. No tweet, nothing to discuss. See how that goes?

You would simply find something else to be outraged about as has been the case for three years and counting.

No.  Stick with the facts.  The witness had no idea about President Trump's tweet until Schiff read it to her.
