Law Enforcement has a tough job, no doubt and sometimes it's not pretty but this is far beyond unacceptable. Endangering civilians and being messy asf.

UPS guy was in uniform. And the way it went down, they knew it was a car jacking because the original robbery vehicle ( a UHaul moving van ) was all shot up from a gun fight with the store owner, and people saw them just grab whoever was close by when they ditched the van.

For what it's worth, the Miami Dade Police Department is saying that their new training is to rush and actively engage any active shooters. The new training is based on the Parkland school shooting, where Florida law enforcement were criticized for not acting fast enough. There is an argument going on in Florida right now, if this actually qualifies as an active shooter, or whether police forced the confrontation.
Some old timers are saying it should've been handled softer, with negotiators being brought in, etc.... The other side is saying "nope, active shooters, we have to engage" more or less.

You know, many of our members have served time in the US military and know what it is to get bullets shot at them. For what it's worth, not everyone would run from shots fired. I don't think anyone would like to find themselves in a situation where shots are being fired, but given the circumstance and assuming that maybe their children are in the line of fire, I doubt anyone would simply run for cover. Yes, there are cowards in all walks of life, but not everyone fits into that mold. Granted, if someone is simply minding their own business and random shots are being fired, I would hope that everyone here would hit the ground. No one is bulletproof. Life is too precious.
Don't let the idea of members from this site running in an act of cowardice from unprejudice shots being fired for the sake of saving their own lives instead of hitting front double bicep poses to deflect bullets make you want to leave the site. There are much worse things to want to leave for.
