I mailed a card with a gift card to my mom for her birthday. She never got it. It was returned to me today and I noticed the top was slit open and looked in the envelope and the card was still there, but the gift card was missing.
Absolutely ridiculous. It could have only been a postal worker as I dropped it off directly at the post office.

Unfortunately that’s where we are these days.Next time put in regular envelope then put in a priority cardboard envelope.People are pieces of shit.

I haven't used the USPS in years. I stopped after I found out they had no affiliation to the federal government, but instead are a private institution. Over the years, I had noticed that their standards of service were very low and their employees were becoming very bitter due to workplace conditions.
Try using UPS or FedEx. They are not perfect, but reliable for the most part. Their employees get paid well, so they probably have less propensity to steal gift cards.

This is one topic I am not very sure about. So I'll leave it to folks that know better, as I can be very wrong about the USPS. I was once told by a USPS center manager that they were not Federal anymore after a certain year decades ago and were instead private.
That said, I don't know for sure.

My sister sells stuff online and it is amazing the theft that happens in the post. Have to keep every receipt and protect yourself as much as possible because scumbag thieves are everywhere! Sorry about this SF1900, still time for her to get the next one hopefully.

Such a hassle to have to go to the UPS store. Fortunately, I don't live in an easily accessible area and if a stranger comes snooping around he'll be watched like a hawk. Also, packages are left inside the garage in the back where there is a table that is not easily viewed as it is blocked by cars. Then there's the dogs.
But I hear it all the time about people getting their packs swiped right off their porch and in their mail box.
