Title: Beasts of Iron - A Gym Idiots Xmal Special
Post by: Powerlift66 on December 25, 2019, 04:23:37 PM
We've all seen the "gym fails" or "gym idiots" videos on YouTube. Many nut-cases out there.
Where I was going for the last 15 years, I never saw any. (Tight-ass, lily white, Hampstead NH people).

Branching out into Massachusetts gyms (1 near Lawrence MA and 1 near Lowell MA gyms) I see some of the knobs we see on YouTube.
One kid today was pretty special. I had a feeling he might be, had his Dr. Dre headphones on, tight tank-top, with zero muscle on his skinny frame to speak of while singing too himself with some rapper hand-gestures). (A "wigger" so to speak).

At the end of my workout I was on the hyper-bench after deadlifting, and it was sort of near the opening to the aerobics room which was empty (and always is).
There are some giant pillars in that room. So this is what the beast was doing.

He was looking at himself in the mirror while "sneaking up" on the pillar. He would then poke his head around the pillar, while leaning on it, spying on himself (reflection) in the mirror.
He would then jump out suddenly at his reflection, and then jump into some weird wrestling type stances against his reflection.

He did this 4 or 5 times in a row, I almost pissed my pants laughing. God I wish I was a phone person and had mine on me (left in the car), this would have been an instant YouTube classic.

Modern day gym-douches, hysterical.

Maybe Generation Iron can do a documentary on them, interview them, see what makes them tick, would be comical.

I dropped a 45 off the squat rack onto my foot a few months back. A few people pretended not to see it. I’m glad you weren’t there.

As I was putting the 90 pound dbs back on the rack after my set some asshole was doing db press as well instead of bringing to his knees and sitting upright like everyone else he drops them needless to say the 50s took a bounce and hit the back of my heel hard.

if it wasn't for the fact that I knew him and he knows my son and hes only 15 teen I would have kicked him off the bench
so instead I taught him the proper way of doing it...so he didn't turn into '' THAT GUY ''

NH 'eh? I grew up in Portsmouth back in the 60's and 70's

Nice town, 30 minute ride, we go their to walk around, hit up the restaurants and shops. (And bars when we used to drink) Portsmouth Brewery was an old fave.

While a video of this genius would be great, your story on him was well written.
You verbally painted  some vivid mental imagery . I'm still laughing as I picture him jumping from behind the pillar.
Reminds me of some ol' Barney Fife move ( see video ) LOL.

barney was a real bad ass . he was known for nipping it in the bud.
