Title: Tired of Super Hero films yet?
Post by: stuntmovie on December 26, 2019, 09:56:10 AM
I'm not a superhero movie fan and I continue to be surprised that these superhero films are still in big demand and making money.

Here is a partial line-up of superhero type movies that will be released.

Do you think that they will continue to be successful?

And which ones are you looking foreward to see?

Birds Of Prey (Harley Quinn) Feb 07, 2020
Wonder Woman 1984 Jun 05, 2020
The Batman Jun 25, 2021
The Suicide Squad Aug 06, 2021
DC Super Pets May 20, 2022
Black Adam Dec 22, 2021
Aquaman 2 Dec 16, 2022
The Flash Jul 01, 2022
Shazam 2 Apr 01, 2022

And....Is Hollywood searching for a new actor to portray Superman?

The only one I'll watch is the sequel to Joker and probably the new Batman film.

They make mega-bucks for Hollyweird, so they will continue to be made.

I stopped watching after the 1st Batman with Keaton and Nicholson.
Haven't seen anything new since, except the last Batman that had Bale, and it was 3-hours long. (Maybe 7 or 8 years ago).
Didn't care much for it.

I do love the Wonder Woman series from the 70's/80s though, Lynda had quite the chesticles... Quite the bombshell.

WW, Aqua and Bats are a go.

Flash (actor) and Shazam are trash, too campy.

The others are tossups.  Don't trust the Rock's acting chops.

There's only one MOS..

Have to love the Hulk pants.

Asia cant get enough of them and its 60%+ of hollywoods profits.Add on the fact movies now cost so much to make and every studio is scared of failure then all we get is superhero, reboots and sequels. All the good stuff is on tv now.

Most are very blah. I'll watch one if they bring Bernthal back as The Punisher and that's about it.

it wouldn't be so bad but they  keep rebooting them, how many spidermen do we need . it's on it's third reboot already since 2002.

Pretty sure this will be the Batman where the endless re-boots stop working. Some of these other characters are weak and success is not guaranteed. For example, can Black Adam stand The Rock playing himself in it like he does in every movie? It could be really bad.

The ending of the Dark Knight series was the pinnacle for these films IMO.

That’s more than likely fake.

Woman had fantastic tits, yes, but ... she has zero bush in that pic. At that time it’s almost inconceivable she didn’t have pubic hair.

I’ll watch any Batman movie. Superman, too.

The rest? Me no care.

As another says, the endless Spiderman re-boots/sequels are completely off-putting.

Actually, I’ll see the Wonder Woman. WW is a cool character.

Yes, I don't think she did any nudes like that.

I'm definitely burned out on the superhero movies for the most part and same with Star Wars movies.

Looking forward to Season 2 of "The Boys" though.

Enjoyed "The Punisher" too.

I'm more concerned with the Catwoman selection.  She's just not attractive and god awful. Pattison can play the Hush version of Bats, not the brutal Batfleck version.

Cavill can't carry a movie.  MOS carries him. That's why that works.  The Bond franchise is done if they select him.

Reeve remains the best Superman.  I suppose they could Brandon Routh  another shot at it as his portrayal in Superman Returns was something  of an homage to Reeve.  They are similar in height but Reeve was just the epitome of both Clark and Kal.

But yes, I am tiring of this genre with one reason being they seem to be moving to Social JustUs Warrior side.   In the Justice League film opening they showed evil whitey "picking on" poor muslime convenience store owners.  FTN.

In the Fleischer Brothers Superman cartoons,  the Man of Steel fought Nazis.  Now of course, he can't harm muslimes, unless they threaten Lois.

Speaking of babes in comics, ever notice the alliteration of many of their names?  Lois Lane.  Lana Lang.  Pepper Pots.  Sue Storm.   I'm nerding out here.

I agree with your basic premise , but I'm older now ,so I won't crack on the younger crowd
I used to watch pro wrasslin' and play pin ball machines ( pre video game stuff).
As I grew older, I lost interest.

To me, it's perfectly fine to see a teen or 20's guy into a new super hero movie or playing video games.

AS LONG AS IT'S A MASCULINE SUPERHEROMOVIE WITH THE RIGHT VALUES AND NOT PROMOTING A PERVERTED AGENDA!

You can still shape and mold teens/20s guys since they are not 100 % complete mentally.

I've loved seeing all the stories I used to read as a kid being brought to life in more detail than I ever could have imagined.

But yeah - I think I've hit a wall with them. Have missed a few, not interested in the latest Star Wars one either, and all the girl power shit in the last Avengers film just annoyed me.

Depends?
1. Watching a new Batman movie and going home to bang your wife or gf= GOOD!
2. Watching the new Batman movie then going home to jerk off to Michelle Pfeiffer in her Catwoman outfit= not that BAD.

fixed

The only one I'll watch is the sequel to Joker and probably the new Batman film.

Joker is not a superhero film.

Joker is a 2019 American psychological thriller film directed by Todd Phillips, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver. ... The film, which acts as an origin story for the Joker, is set in 1981 and follows Arthur Fleck, a failed stand-up comedian who turns to a life of crime and chaos in Gotham City.

Birds of Prey was director Cathy Yan’s first feature, and was supposed to be Margot’s breakout film.
I know folks in the stunt industry who said that Yan sucks and treated stuntmen on set like shit.
Another director was brought in to reshoot key action scenes.

Joker is a 2019 American psychological thriller film directed by Todd Phillips, who stole the entire idea from Taxi Driver and King of Comedy ... Thin Liz, I give motion picture theaters five more years of life. After that they'll close the doors.

But that should prove to have little effect on the making of major motion pictures because the studios will continue to meet the public's demand for entertainment .... but this time it will be entertainment within your own abode on 20 foot wide 8K screens and sound tracks that will knock your socks off.

Then will come In Home Virtual Reality which will ehncourage you to interreact/participate with your favorite stars in  ways that are not even comprehended at present.

Instead of watching Ironman, or Spiderman, or Superman .... you can become one of them (or even each of them) and save the world from massive destruction.

Or wine and dine Wonder Woman and see  what follows after dinner.
