Happy New Year everybody! In celebration of a new decade, my manager and friend John Cimino and I have a special treat for comicbook fans both new and old. What you are about to see is a Herculean labor called THE OFFICIAL ROY THOMAS CHARACTERS, CONCEPTS AND CREATIONS DATABASE!
What’s that you say? Well, over the past year, John has made it his personal mission to collect and collate everything he could of my "contributions," such as they may be, to the comicbook field... and he's done such a formidable job that there are a number of concepts and characters listed which I had totally forgotten. The result is, he and I both hope, a database which will be of considerable worth to both the researcher and the casual reader. Naturally, it's not my--or John's--contention that my work over the past half-century plus has such unique merit that it should be catalogued and celebrated above that of others. Rather, he and I hope by this thorough database to inspire others to create additional databases of their own, devoted to this artist or that writer. If that happens, the field of comicbook history will be the richer for it. My thanks to John for the immeasurable amount of hard work he poured into this database; may it lead to many more showcasing the talents of my peers! And meanwhile--dare I say it?--I hope you'll enjoy going over it, since enjoyment is, above everything else, what comics is all about.

Roy Thomas created Wolverine? Whaatt?? Haha, damn. I didn't know that. Great stuff.
indie-lad, do you go to a lot of Comic Cons as part of your work? It looked like you met Jeff Goldblum at one of them. Just wondering.

AWESOME I`M THERE !!

Thanks guys.
If you take the time and check this thing out, you'll be plenty surprised to what Roy actually did for the industry.
No doubt he's on the Mount Rushmore of Marvel alongside Lee, Kirby and Ditko.

I loved Steve Ditko's Spider-Man art as a kid. I didn't realize he passed away only shortly before Stan Lee, having also lived to his nineties:

There is something wrong with adults who are into comic books.

But what if they make a ton of money from it?
Would you like it then?

Not bad getting some international exposure to celebrate a legend.

I want Cimino to write a Marvel-story and create some new characters together with Roy Thomas called:
The ButtBunny
The Soggy Old Queer
The HomeWrecking Kielbasa
The Hebreic Israelite Flat Earther, Codename: Nibirus
The Fluctuator, Codename: Ach
Queen Vissy
The Soaring Falcon
The Quarter Pounder (w cheese) Demolisher

Roy not only created a mass of characters, he also exposed many new generations to many of forgotten heroes of the past like John Carter of Mars & Hugo Danner/Gladiator. He was simply a genius and Stan Lee hand chose him to be his heir to the throne.

Hopfully Roy will choose Cimino as his heir when the time comes.

I have well over 1000 Silver aznd Bronze Age Marvel comics.................. .....great stuff I can`t get with the new comics............art looks stupid and pages and ballons are all over the fucking place.
Have Roy bring back the old layout format with more realistic art panels.
Huge fan of Roy as he was Stans right hand man when it came to plotting/writing.

Great to know.
He did that in last years CAPTAIN AMERICA AND THE INVADERS: Bahamas Triangle one-shot. Unfortunately the way Marvel is run today is a joke. Waaaaaay too much "woke" and "SJW" crap. It's not the same AT ALL!
He was Stan's genie in a bottle because Roy could do it all. Just look at the man's legacy.

I haven't read many comics as an adult [although I have a bag of them just to my left that I brought to my home - just haven't gone through them lately], but I know exactly what you mean.
I think it started with Spawn - or maybe that era of comics was the last of legible comic boxes. Since then, they are focusing on making them so graphical...it's kind of making the stories themselves hard to read.
I agree that they should go back to the old format. But I guess they take a market approach to what sells and what doesn't.

As I wrote in another thread Roy also came back to write SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN for issues #10 and 11 last year. I'm partial to this because Roy made me a character in issue #10. I work and hustle the rich crowd with Conan. Here was the comic news article on it.
https://www.bleedingcool.com/2019/10/17/alan-davis-scoundrel-rat-savage-sword-of-conan-10/
That was an honor, plus Roy put in a couple of private jokes between us in the two-parter that only we got. It was a dream come true. Plus my character lives and is still out there in the Conan-mythos. Hopefully another writer picks me up and continues my partnership with Conan.
Hopefully I can get him more work with Marvel but there's so much politics involved.

That`s freakin` awesome man.........props !!
