Elizabeth Warren is evil.
If anyone should pay the debt, it should be the universities in the form of forgiving the debt. They're the racket. They should be punished. Not taxpayers.
If the gov does pays debtors(with our money), they should also pay every single person whether they went to college or not.
Otherwise, US citizens have every right to go Jacobin on the US government.

So, because I was responsible with my finances, I would not benefit I guess?
I paid for my 2 kids colleges (30K per year each, 2 kids over 6 years staggered) 240K+, with self-funded college funds we setup at birth. (No loans).
Every 10K Bonus I got (yearly) since 2002 was put into these college accounts. Every stock I sold went in there (40K in GOOG stock), etc.
So for not being reckless, not spending above my means, or wasting bonuses and stock money on ourselves (quarter million), and putting into self-funded college funds, we would not benefit from anything.
Slackers who drain on America would benefit though, huh? Hmm, seems about right/fair. ::)

I happen to be of the opinion that we're entering a new era of politics in which politicians who win elections will govern only for their constituency. Fuck the other 50%.
I used to think that government is the great equalizer but boy, was I wrong!
What I've learned is that in any society, in any time, for democracy to survive, the population must, MUST, understand and assume that #1: politicians tend to act and govern in ways that erode the democratic system and #2: the media are not there to inform, they are there to either diffuse and either sell you propaganda or helicopter seats.
Not trusting government should be a constant among The People. Ideological spectrum aside.
