Calorie surplus does not matter
If your INTENSITY increases, so MUST you sleep/recovery needs increase.
Sleep is NOT merely sleep, but a time your body goes through tremendous hormonal secretions, tissue regeneration, assessment of strain upon muscles/tendons/ligament/cartilage and makes strength adjustments to it..... all of this while juggling digestion of foods, detoxification of unneeded/unwanted chemicals/dead tissue/manufacture of immune cells etc
So a lot goes on while you sleep including your desired Serotonin, Melatonin, Dopamine and DMT production/release.
Is your desired higher Serotonin because your in a shit mood because of a LACK of sleep..... or are you in a shit mood because you THINK you are not producing enough of it?
Always remember you have to work WITH your body's Hormonal/Digestive/Sleep(Circadian)/Recovery systems.... you can not force it to work faster than what is best for it to do... less you overwhelm it and become sick/exhausted or worst SHOW NO IMPROVEMENT/RESULT OF ALL OF YOUR ADDITIONAL TRAINING/EATING/SUPPLEMENTATION.
You will have to find a pace with your body and its working for effective training/sleeping/resting...
I know that is not what you want to hear, but it what you NEEED TO HEAR
