"Public statements and tweets made about the department, about people in the department, our men and women here, about cases pending in the department, and about judges before whom we have cases make it impossible for me to do my job and to assure the courts and the department that we’re doing our work with integrity," Barr told ABC.
The Trumptard legacy seems to be creating chaos in our Justice Department along with our State Department (and no doubt many other departements as well)

CBS News reporter Catherine Herridge reported that White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham made the following statement in response to Barr’s criticisms: “The President wasn’t bothered by the comments..he has the right, just like any American citizen, to publicly offer his opinions. #POTUS uses social media very effectively to fight for the American people…(and) has full faith and confidence in AG Barr.”

This was "breaking news" all over cnn, they'll make a big deal out of any anti-Trump thing they can find. Desperate, sloppy news whores.

Trump is talking about replacing Barr with Rick Santorum. For those that aren't familiar with Rick's body of work, please google Santorum.

I agree with Barr on this one. But with Trump tweeting live by the sword and die by the sword.
In the end the same judge that gave Manafort solitary confinement for a white collar and process crime will ultimately be handing out sentencing. You can expect the 9 years and then a pardon in 2021.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were right about this.

There's speculation that Barr's interview was a setup meant to throw the public off while he does Trump's bidding.

To be honest that is the first thing I thought. With Jeff Sessions in the past you can see how a poor AG can affect the power of the Executive Branch.
Trump knows how to play the media...if anything he dominates both sides of media. It has proven crippling to any message the dems might have had.

Yes well, like they say, you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. Trump's time is about reached it's saturation point.

You are 18-24 months early on that by my estimation. I fully expect an easy re-election and then the big money pulls the rug out from under this stock market, taking gains before the inevitable socialist 2024 POTUS. The pendulum swings.

You could certainly be right. Trump love is fueled by the current good economy. Historically, the economy has its ups and downs. People are riding high on their nice returns, and the job market. When the pendulum swings, all hell is going to break loose. Trump lovers will become the most ardent Trump haters if this happen's while he's in office. Maybe he should get out while the gettin' is good. But, that will never happen. His ego won't allow it.

Most of politics is an act. If it was real, people from the last administration would be in prison. Instead they go on TV and talk about what they did.
They are a self serving upper class. All of them. Problem is it is still the best system in the world.

I am not going to fret over which politicians should or shouldn't be in prison because it will likely never happen. Therefore, why even discuss it?

Are you retarded? Read your thread title, and then read the White House’s response. When is Trump going to roll him under the bus?

They selectively ignore counters that they themselves cannot counter.

Has there been an explanation from Sessions as to why he recused himself from an investigation that never should have happened?
-
Has there been an explanation from Sessions as to why he recused himself from an investigation that never should have happened?
The rule that Sessions cited — 28 CFR 45.2 — states that DOJ employees may not "participate in a criminal investigation or prosecution if he has a personal or political relationship with any person or organization substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution, or who would be directly affected by the outcome."

No, and yet he still runs for his old seat.

Why even vote then if that is your standard?

Why even vote then if that is your standard?
That's a bit of a leap, isn't it. Trust me, if I thought a politician belonged in prison, I would not vote for them. Some folks are still chanting "Lock her up" with regards to Hillary Clinton, despite that she's been cleared of having committed any crimes and she's not running for office so a vote for her would be wasted. Just like it is a waste of energy to continue to discuss it. At best, it is a stupid distraction.
