Title: Prayer Request Thread???
Post by: Butterbean on April 17, 2006, 11:21:28 AM
What are opinions on a prayer request thread?

Keep in mind that here on getbig, if you reveal a problem or weakness it can possibly and most probably come back to bite you.

Haven't been requested to have something else be a sticky....

The prayer request sticky question won't be one for long; probably less than a few days.

Would you feel better if I made a thread with "Johnny Apollo" in the title a sticky?

Lighten up Francis :)  it'll be OK

Johnny is always welcome to buy his own server and create his own "Jihad Against Christianity" forum.

He could add it to his list of impressive accomplishments.  ::)

Haider, would you be comfortable enough to share a muslim prayer that you would normally pray to Allah?  I've never heard/seen a muslim prayer before.  When you pray, how do you pray?  What do you say?

This isn't a Christian forum, It's a bodybuilding forum. So in fact maybe YOU should buy your own pro christian server!

If I did I'd would have better than 56k Internet connection speed.  :-*

Two bachelors degrees and you can't get a job that will help you pay for high-speed Internet access?

Do you parents need to raise your allowance, Johnny?

I have a good job. I live in the middle of nowhere where High speed internet isn't available and there is no sense paying thousands of dollars to get them to dig the ditches and install the wires when I'm only living here for a few more months.

At my work(Where I am now) where I commute I have highspeed proxy directed internet though.

However you changed the topic. Nice try...

I guess you've never heard of satellites?

It's a religious topics thread on a bodybuilder website, goober. If you don't care for the conversation feel free to go away. Really, please go away.

Satellite internet access would cost me several hundred for installation and then over 100 a month for service!  ::)

Bachelors or PHD's don't mean you make money. My degrees are in things which I didn't get for money but because I am interested in them.

Seems your "degrees" are related to your field (archeology) you mean to tell me you're not making money as an archeologist??

i read an article on yahoo about an experiment done with dying kids or something like that where half were prayed for and half werent ... and there was no statistical correlation between praying and increased health

you time and mental energy would be better spent actually helping someone, if thats your goal

already been done, Slipped.

there's a dude at my church that was diagnosed with late stage colon cancer a year and half ago.  he didn't have insurance and was too proud to let folks from the church help him out by paying his hospital expenses.  so, he never went to the doctor, just told us to pray for him.  so we did....no signs of cancer in his system to this day.

mere coincendence you say?

ok, then how about another lady at our church who had been told to get her funeral arrangements in order.  the doctors were baffled and said that removing a malignant tumor would prove to be too risky and fatal.  people from the church prayed for her, she was saying her good-byes and everything.  she goes back to the doctor and the tumor had taken a totally different form - a form that would enable the docs to remove it.  she's good to go now.

be careful what you ask for, Slipped!   :)

My workout partner's husband is friend w/a guy who was diagnosed w/cancer...............people from his church and bible study group as well as others prayed for him and he did not need the surgery they planned as he is now completely cancer free.

There are so many stories like this......prayer is not futile.
