Soul Crusher, I hate to say this, but would you say that Tom Prince looks like a coat hanger in clothes in that interview? :-\

The interesting part is where Shawn confronts him over Chad Nicholls and the body count.

Tom is one of Chad's many athletes bodybuilders who supports Chad.
Perhaps he was going to be extreme anyway, and just takes personal responsibility for what he put in his body.
I don't know if you recall the, I think March of 2004 issue of FLEX magazine, where Tom Prince stated that his doctor told him he was in kidney failure, and he went to get ice cream on the way to the hospital. True story. :-\

I saw this when it came out... Good interview.
It's good to see dialysis seems to be working well for Tom, as clearly transplants are not a viable option.

Lollipop Guild Convention?
Given the drug regimen of the past, he's lucky to be alive. So is Tom Prince.

back in 2000 or 2001 i was at max muscle just maybe 100 yards from golds. I was talking to lee priests roomate (who worked there or owned it or something) anyways in walks tom prince. all sweating huffing puffing and had to sit down. I said why are you so exhausted did you just train legs? he said no i just walked here from golds!! . i couldnt believe it he was exhausted just walking. now tom was big for sure then. then he started talking to the guy ( priests roomate) all about the different diuretcs and drugs that someone was using and what a high amount etc .

Here's a location where Shawn could film a ton of "where are they now" episodes.

Here’s the thing that makes it even more absurd, he was carrying that weight at 5’7, not 5’8

Why aren’t transplants an option?
Also, Shawn looks kind of like Goodrum in that pic.

He’s still on dialysis? That’s a long time if he is. Dialysis isn’t a long term option. I thought it was a short term solution.

Tom's blood won't take kindly to a new kidney, so there is little point.
-
His lips were chapped AF. I thought he was methed up. Is that a side effect of the dialysis

Holy fuck

This is so sad.

I had Prince beating Titus in Long beach 96. It wasn't the same standard as early 90s but was still up there with Fletcher getting third, Dente fourth and Downing 5th.

That’s sad
He was really a nice guy, soft spoken, but all the drugs and rec drugs did him in when he finally had a heart attack and fell into the pool, and died

It seems to be accepted knowledge that Art Atwood did recreational drugs. If I had to guess...is it safe to say that Art was doing UPPERS, and not DOWNERS?
The reason why I ask is because Ronnie Coleman, as of his 2018 documentary "Ronnie Coleman: The King", he was using 45mg of oxycodone every six hours [180mg daily], and that is only what he is prescribed - and what he was prescribed as of the time of filming in 2018 or 2017...or whenever it was filmed.
He may be acquiring more opiates on the streets in addition to his prescription, based on how he appeared in his Valuetainment interview [he definitely has the money to do it - as he was making at least $1 million back in 2001, according to Wayne Demilia, and Ronnie claimed that he was making WAY MORE money once he started his Signature Series supplement company, which leads me to believe he is making more like $5+ million per year, pre-tax].
So it's possible that Ronnie is on more than 200mg of oxycodone daily now - even if just based on his prescription increases caused by his surgeries.
My assumption is that Art Atwood was doing uppers/stimulants.
Do you know anything about that?
RIP, Art Atwood [1973-2011].

The funny thing about Tom is he only came in shape for 1 pro contest his entire career and placed 3rd. Can't imagine destroying my body and taking 30 years off my life for a 3rd place NOC trophy.

Imagine the legions of nobodies who don't even compete, that face the same health issues.

Nah, that's ok.

The legion of nobodies usually don’t have kidney failure in their 30’s, need a transplant, and be on dialysis for the rest of their lives
This is a direct result of him abusing everything

they do, you just dont hear about it....
-
they do, you just dont hear about it....
Key word here “usually”
I’m sure but in bbing it’s a direct correlation from all the drugs they do as in toms case
If he didn’t do the things he did, chances are, he wouldn’t be in the situation he’s at
Not trying to justify everything

When I would see Art all the time, this was 2006 ish to around his death, he just moved to the dfw area and still competing. You would never know he was into all the other “stuff” that he was into. He was a dealer, like a lot of bbers were. Dabbled in a lot of rec drugs like X, coke, pain killers (obviously) no different than a lot of other guys
I know he got caught from the dealings, and he was brewing gear and all sorts of stuff in his house. Struck a deal and ratted out a lot of the guys that were “big” in the DFW area, hence why he only got a slap on the wrist and and no jail time
Seems like an old country boy from Wisconsin but he was a bber, and def lived the lifestyle and even divorced his wife and had a stripper gf ;D
