The goal is to get all adults over 35 on cholesterol meds for life.  The pharmaceutical industry, for all the good they do, are evil as well.

High cholesterol is bad only for those who consume industrial oils(canola, sunflower, soybean, margarine, etc.) and consume more than 150g carbs per day.

For those on a high fat, low carb diet who consume only animal fat and some natural plant oils(coconut, avocado, olive, etc.), high cholesterol is not only harmless, but it's actually a marker for good health and longevity.

Not a doctor but what is obvious is there are two types of heart attacks. One is a clogged artery and the other an electrical problem. Sometimes it happens in combination. From what I read nearly 50% of clog type heart attacks happen to people with low cholesterol or favorable numbers. If cholesterol is the magic indicator how do they explain the other clogs? Yes, I know about lipid ratios. Sometimes I wonder if we truly know how to prevent heart attacks definitively.  We do know that fit people have much lower risk of heart attack than unfit people. Other risk factors are high blood pressure, high sugar, high triglycerides, and visceral fat. Genetics trumps all. There are a few fat guys that have never exercised that make it into their 80's. An indicator some doctors feel is really important is cardiac inflammation and it's a blood test to find out the number.

This.

Rather disheartening for those who got the short end in genetics but the truth.

The "cholesterol myth" was from a long ago study that really has little basis in fact.  I read this somewhere.

My mother had 300+ cholesterol and lived to 96, dying of lung cancer.  Of course now they know about the various types of cholesterol.

It's a crapshoot really.  Nothing definitive.

I saw a study somewhere that suggests low cholesterol numbers are correlated with high cancer rates.  They want to get us all to 150.  No thanks.

Eat more non commercially raised animal food and keep your intake of plant food at a minimum and you‘ll be fine. Vegetables being so healthy is another big lie we‘re told from an early age. No wonder toddlers don‘t want to eat them.
