Based on the facts that have been presented to us we should expect that the homeless population in the San Francisco area, 28,000, to be completely infected and extremely contagious.
The deaths should number in the thousands for these homeless people shortly.
Right?
-
Every limousine liberal should provide their home as shelter for an infected homeless person. They’re so heartless!
-
The residentially challenged appear highly resistant to everything except laziness.
-
If you think homeless people are lazy then you're a complete idiot.
-
If you think homeless people are lazy then you're a complete idiot.
So the homeless are always busy working and providing value for society? Well, I guess I learn something new everyday.

How you can believe that your words hold any truthful meaning when they are held in place by the moral equivalent of a sieve.

The prevalence of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) amongst populations experiencing
homelessness is apparent to many providers. In fact, PTSD is connected to homelessness in at
least three ways.
First, many military veterans suffer from PTSD as a result of their experiences
in combat situations, which can lead to homelessness upon their exiting military service.
Second,
a traumatic event experienced during homelessness can itself cause PTSD. Examples might
include witnessing or being victim of an attack, sexual assault, and so forth.
The third and much
less commonly explored area of focus is when the traumatic event is homelessness itself; that is,
when the experience of not having a home leads to PTSD. The implications for people in this
third category create challenges for both homelessness and mental health providers, particularly
when compounded by other traumas suffered before and during the experience of homelessness.
One-third of adult homeless men and nearly one-quarter of all homeless adults have served in the armed forces. ... About half of all homeless veterans suffer from mental illness and more than two-thirds suffer from alcohol or drug abuse problems. Nearly 40 percent have both psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.
Or as The Scott and Humble Narcissist would have you believe - they suffer from laziness.
That there are grown men among us, that walk the streets that are that ignorant is just mind-boggling.

Self-pity for others is but one of the hallmarks of your kind.
Over the decades I have personally seen the result of what people will do to themselves and then blame on anyone and anything but themselves.
You and your kind never think, only feeeeeel. You don't give. You take and redistribute. And call it "fairness".
You are a crime against Civilization and in the end you will be alone. Your dust is shaken, cast to the four winds.

RatherbeBig what are you doing to help the homeless?
I find it interesting how so many people "care" for the homeless on paper but if one of these individuals approaches your stopped car at a traffic light or exposes their genitals outside of a McDonald's, most will punch them in the face.
Im glad that something is trying to be done about these people having shelter during the outbreak but in all honesty coronavirus is the very least of their problems.

Spare me your anti-socialist ramblings.
This is about understanding human psychology. That people dont end up on the street because of laziness or expecting hand outs.
You're an ignorant fool.
You walk past a homeless person that only years later been fighting in Afghanistan and you think he is where he is because of laziness?
You must be downright retarded to have that opinion.
Seriously.

Shizzo- GTFO. You are beyond boring. Your primary function in life appears to try to derive some self worth from your pitiful existence. I'll save you some time- there isn't any. Go cultivate the mold on castor beans and ingest them.

Right?
Maybe right. A lot of homeless people have health issues which may make them more susceptible to the acute symptoms which people are dying from. Because homelessness doesn't provide for a very sanitary environment, the virus is likely to spread quicker than in better situations. If you are going to had money to a homeless person, drop it on the ground. You should avoid physical proximity of less than 6 ft. to anyone you don't know. More is better.

Spare us your fake outrage cut and paste liberal/Socialist fake bleeding heart bullshit. Bottom line is your side shits on our military which is one of the reasons why they fucking HATED Obama so don’t pretend you actually give a shit so can it.
How about looking up how our troops were treated after returning from the Vietnam War.
Why don’t you go out and walk the streets of LA down skid row. as a matter of fact why don’t you go walk the streets of any Dem ran city that’s riddled with homelessness and see who you have on the streets. At least a quarter to half are able bodied and have the capacity to get a job....if they want...but why work when you get shit for free?

You sound just like the fictional character Patrik Bateman from the movie American Psycho:
Hello. Pat Bateman. You want some uh, money? Some food? [reaches into wallet]. This what you need?”
“I’m hungry.”
“Yeah. Cold out too, isn’t it? [Kneels so that he is eye level with the homeless man]. Why don’t you get a job? If you’re so hungry, why don’t you get a job?
“I lost my job.”
“Why? You drinking? Is that why you lost it? Insider trading? [snickers] Just joking. Listen, what’s your name?”
“Al.”
“Hmm? Speak up, come on!”
“Al.”
“Get a goddamn job, Al! You’ve got a negative attitude! That’s what’s stopping you! You gotta get your act together. I’ll help you.”
"It gets worse, and then, of course, Bateman eventually stabs the homeless guy after telling him he smells like shit. As disturbing as the above conversation may seem, it is, almost verbatim, the kind of “helpful” advice dispensed by sniveling “motivational” books and, moreover, fits neatly into the American pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps mythology. It’s ironic, of course, that Bateman never acknowledges that his lavish lifestyle and high-paying, meaningless job exist because his father owns the company where he works. Bateman had very little to do with creating his world, but he takes credit for it nevertheless.
It’s unsurprising, then, that someone with so little self-awareness would develop sociopathic tendencies."
Psychopathy is traditionally a personality disorder characterized by persistent antisocial behavior, impaired empathy and remorse, and bold, disinhibited, and egotistical traits.

Texas which is a Republican dominated state had 25,848 homeless folks in 2019. Florida another Republican State had 28,838 homeless. This is, nothing as compared to California's 151,278 homeless people. Homeless people tend to congregate in major cities because this is where they can find services. They also live in places where the climate is moderate to warm for obvious reasons....they don't want to freeze to death in the winter or cook during the summer. The reasons people become homeless are many. Obviously, some have simply made it a lifestyle. Anyone willing to stand by the road all day long holding some pathetic sign begging for money isn't so much lazy as they are stupid and occasionally desperate. I would do anything, work three or four shit jobs in order to no have to stand around all day with a sad face panhandling, wouldn't you?

"A record number of homeless people died last year, in the biggest increase in deaths since reporting began, amid warnings fatalities are likely to be even higher in 2019.
an estimated 726 homeless people died in England and Wales in 2018. This is a 22% rise from 2017 and the biggest increase since the data was first collected in 2013.
The mean age at death was 45 years for men and 43 for women"
So while homeless people are dying on the streets by the hundreds, people like Coach think that after careful consideration, they choose this life because they want shit for free!
Amazing.

I'd rather die than be homeless.
-
So the homeless are always busy working and providing value for society? Well, I guess I learn something new everyday.
This. 98% of homeless people are there due to the poor choices they have made. Many are entitled addicted pieces of shit. How do I know this? My girl volunteers at a place where homeless people can get ID's, use computers, have a hot meal, etc. It's not a shelter but it's a center where they can go for assistance. Most of them refuse basic services such as getting an ID because they don't want help. They want their addictions fed.

No, people like Coach think homeless people are more often than not are homeless because they're weak-minded, drug and alcohol addled fuckwits who more often than not, put themselves in the position they're in.
Actually, I cannot speak for Coach. Conservatives speak for themselves and in unison when in agreement. Nitwits like you merely feeeeeeeeeeeeeel.
I think the homeless are weak-minded, drug and alcohol addled fuckwits who more often than not, put themselves in the position they're in. You, I think are a Sybil, drawn here by your pathetic ego. Your drug of choice is belittlement by others.
It is true that I am not at all intelligent, but at least I am not a moron. You are a moron. Here to feed your addiction like a little moth reaching for the porch light.
Take care you don't fly too close to that ego of yours which lights your way. Moron.

Lord but you are a moron. You pose questions that you already know the answer to but refuse to listen to the truth within so that you may decry that which is given by another.

What truth? So far you only voiced your OPINION, why would you think that has anything whatsoever to do with the truth?

It matters not what their supposed intentions were or are. I have never known an addict that did not choose to start down that path on their own. Never.

Does your ego cry out for succor? I thought so.

So basically you're saying that a guy that gets his arm shot off in Afghanistan, comes home to the US, gets an addiction to pain killers, end up on the street "choose to start down that path on his own".
You don't come across as very bright.

You choose your path poorly. You are no match for me, neither here nor in the real world. Don't risk that ego lightly, kiddo.

Why do you think people make poor choices?
Because people are imperfect....and sometimes some of us are complete fuck ups. That's why.

Another example:
The Scott is walking down the street. A brick falls from a building and hit him in the head.
This is very painful, so in order to deal with the pain that is almost unbearable, The Scott decides to take painkillers.
After some time, he need to up the dosage.
Before he knows it, The Scott becomes addicted to the painkillers.
Did The Scott choose to start down that path on his own?

Yes because this exact scenario happen to Lieutenant Dan in Forest Gump. That was a very realistic movie. And Tom Hanks tested positive for Covid19.
This thread has come full circle.

I have been through worse and not suffered this because I am not as you apparently are. A weakling, given to rationalizing anything to salve your desires, hidden or not.
Your skirt is showing. Stupid child.

Whatabout the thousands of soldiers that end up on the streets, are they weaklings too and did they choose to start down that path on their own?

Maybe not. But ultimately, we are (or should be) responsible for our own behavior. Once a person even suspects they may be becoming addicted to opiates or someone around them suggests that they are to them, they need to see the doctor and detox.
My mom once gave me a Demerol with an antidepressant, suggesting if I ever was feeling particularly low (like having a bad day) to try it. Weeks later, I did and wow! I felt like I'd died and gone to heaven. Next time I was at the doctor's office, I asked about getting a prescription. Instead, he gave me the lowdown on the drug. I should have known how bad it was because my mom spent years being strung out on uppers and downers (think Valley of the Dolls). Obviously, I did not get a prescription.
-
If The Scott or The Coach would've experienced what the homeless guy experienced, they too would be on the street. And someone else would walk past them with their gymbag on the shoulder thinking "what bums, they need to get a job!"

"friedchickendinner" has the lowest test levels on this site and the politics of a 54 year old Subaru driving cat lady from the burbs.

Bingo...for most it’s a CHOICE. They either weren’t given the skills to survive and didn’t no where to turn to be a success, and by success I don’t mean being a millionaire, I mean just to be respected part of society, have a job, have a roof over their heads and generally not depend on the Government for hand outs. I get there are mentally challenged homeless but you have to ask how did they get there? Answer: By making bad choices in life
-
Abdulah the gib, can easily predict how many of those 28000 would die , just ask him ;)

There are indeed a lot of people who end up on the streets because of their own poor choices. However there are also people who make poor choices because they don't have the mental capacity to make what most of us would consider good choices. Let me give you an example.
My aunt was schizophrenic. Her illness "blew up" when she was in her 40's. At that time she was married and the mother of 6 children. One day without notice, her husband took three of the kids and disappeared.
She'd always been kind of wacky, but fun to be around. Her husband's stunt pushed her over the edge. Anyway, she wound up not having any of her 6 kids. She was in and out of the VA Hospital in West Los Angeles several times and she did a couple of stints in Camarillo. When she was in care, she was on meds which stabilized her condition enough that she could sort of function in society. She'd go off her medication because they made her lethargic (this is common among schizophrenics).
For several years she had a tiny apartment in Venice Beach. One day, she walked out of the apartment and onto the streets for reasons that only she understood. She lived on the streets of L.A. and in and out of the hospital for the rest life, which remarkably lasted until her early 80's. So yeah, she made bad choices which caused her to be homeless, but she wasn't capable of making good choices.
Oh, and she would have nothing to do with any of her immediate family (basically her kids) for fear they would have her locked up. So even had any of them wanted to take her in, she wouldn't have let them.
Granted, my aunt did not represent all homeless people then or now, but there are a lot of people who are mentally disabled with literally nowhere to go but the streets.
