Ok, for a few weeks, there has been way too much negativity and baseless attacks here, and it is getting out of control. Now, I am all for free speech, but there is a point where it is being crossed. So, on this board, it is time, to get it back in focus and more bodybuilding oriented. You have the X & Y Boards to get your aggressions out.
That doesn’t mean that you cannot debate or offer contructive criticism or talk about any subject. I am just saying that many of us are tired of the one liners over and over again. So lets get back to bodybuilding topics... no baseless attacks, no slander, no gay porn, no nudity, etc.
And lets get back to having fun...
We all know the line... and I will PM or email you when you have crossed it....
Now I know that you will say that others are doing it, but if a few of you stop it, then others will follow.
Discuss in an intelligent way...

For the record, I have deleted MANY threads over the past week although certain individuals want to blame someone else for deleting their third grade threads.

Thank you Ron ...some of the old members stopped posting or simply reduced their amount of posts to minimum just because this board started to sound more and more like a playground for kids. :) Let's bring back what Getbig really is,first hand info about bodybuilding, not a place where pros are attacked and verbally abused every second thread, by some guys that think this is gonna make them look good . Dan

I agree. It is time. And I think many people, even the ones who are doing this, would appreciate it stopping. For the ones who don't, it is time to go, or move down to the X & Y Board, and perhaps the Z Board...

Good! A lot of people do not get respect around here that should like the Pros.( Chick, Jack ) I understand jokeing around and ribbing but it always gets out of hand.

What's up Ron, thank you for this great site, my man. I'm for everything you guys will do to make this site better. too much negativity, and I for one barely post, but if I have something good to say, I'll definitely post it. I check this site daily, some of the stuff make me laugh, but at the same time, I realize that a lot of these members dont respect people at all in what they're posting. From now on, any restrictions will be appreciated.

I don't think Ron means to turn the board into some gigantic ass kissing fest, but just cut out the really bad crap....like when Richard Jones [who is always pleasant] gets a racial slur thrown at him...simply out of the blue by someone. That is not cool at all.
But no, I doubt Ron means us to go around posting a million 'appreciation threads' and saying how everyone just looks wonderful all the time 8)

I think the last few weeks have been the best Getbig has ever been.
Some people are just fragile and some don't have a sense of humor, that's what I think.

Well - some of you get it. The right to express an opinion is fine - but at least make it high school level, not junior grade level...
The racial slurs, the baseless attacks that do not add anything to a post have got to go.
Now, the praise to me that you guys want to do, use the Mod Comments board...
And KEEP THE THREADS FOCUSED TO THE ORIGINAL POINT.
Otherwise, the merging of threads is what happens, or the deletions of posts after it gets out of hand.

You have no idea of what you're talking about. Mayhem 2? Dude, if you have ever posted on Mayhem, you'd know just how incredibly unfair and bitchy what you just wrote is to Ron >:(. I've posted on Mayhem for years and also at bodybuilding.com, elitefitness, etc and I assure you that the getbig.com message board is BY FAR the most free-speech friendly of them all. This is the ONLY bodybuilding board, hell, make that internet board, where you can use express yourself forcefully, even by using foul language and not only not get banned, but not even be warned by the moderators! While that is wonderful, it also opens too much opportunity for abuse. I wrote Ron and he agreed with me that it had to stop. Good to see that he has common sense... :)

Ron, I know many people have been complaining of moved and delted threads - so then they start a new thread (soon to also be moved or deleted) with a title "Where did my thread about ______ go?" Maybe the following would help:
1) Like Hedgehog does, when ALL threads are moved the title changes to "Moved: _________" so people can at least see that it was moved and not deleted
2) Always ensure that they are able to see where it was moved to. This will a) let them find their own thread, b) help them learn where the thread should have gone in the first place.
3) When a thread is deleted, the title should be changed to "Deleted:_________" then has a reason when you click on it. It will keep the Pros honest that are mods and help others see who is deleting. I think it is only fair to know who is deleting threads to ensure that there are not personal agendas here. Too many rumors and bad blood over deleting threads lately.
4) When a post is deleted, it shouldn't just disappear all together. I've seen other boards state "Post #3 of this thread was deleted" - then add a short reason like "vulgarity". Again, this will give members feedback on what is taking things too far...
Just some ideas - trying to keep this place fun for all...

Yeah it really throws things off when you happen to read somthin before it was deleted and then 2min later it's gone and things that were said now make no sense because of a deleted post. Also i agree with putting a reason for deletion so that people know where this "line" is and don't cross it.

Yes, My goal is to get as huge as Toxic avenger. But id have to starve to death, quit going to the gym, and post a pic right before my last dying breath................Bu t id still out weigh him by 250lbs. :'(
